nice helpful video. great job. a bit less shake cam would ease the watchability but i like the way u showed everything on cam and explained it in an average joes english and still managed to keep it from dragging on and on like other diy videos. plus your opening clip shows that you have a high level of confidence in your work. thank harry.

Thanks for the video. Me and my son did ours using your part1-2 videos! We were able to disassemble, replace the liner and assemble it back together in about half a day. Got 3yards of fabric @ $12/yard and 2 cans of headliner glue spray from Jo-ann Fabrics.

Thanks. Yours looks similar to my 1996 Voyager which I did a few months ago. It had all wiring attached to the roof. Today, I removed the headliner in our 2002 T&C Limited. It has everything - Upper console, rear climate, automatic rear door & windows, lighted visors. Much different since the wiring harness is glued to the top of the headliner and it is hardwired to the body, thus the comments here. To answer one question - don't cut the wires! Instead, you must pull & cut it out of the glue everywhere and detach from the headliner. Once you remove the door pillars, you can drop it down enough for easy access, but the glue is like what is used to bind books or a sticky rat trap, i.e. very tough. My 96's foam was a bit degraded at the edges, so I decided to cover the inside surface w/ fiberglass cloth, like one would a boat. I should have just used strips since trying to use 2 full sheets caused many wrinkles I had to later cut out and re-patch. My 2002 has white plastic supports along the edges, though they had detached from the foam. I will likely add fiberglass strips for support and to re-secure. I hate to do fiberglass in the summer since much less working time. I chill the resin in the refrigerator, but still little time. One thought is to attach the wiring to the ceiling, but I will likely put it back like the factory did, but with much less glue. It appears when they built these, they installed the headliner first, w/ the cable hanging down, then put the rest of the interior over the cable. BTW, the visor wire has a connector above, which you can access once the headliner is dropped a bit. On one side, I tried disconnecting the wires inside the visor and didn't work, plus I slightly cracked the mirror.

I going to try and use spray adheisive on the underside to reattach the drooping cloth. Think I can do it in sections without fully removing it, just creating access point to spray the adheisive, the liner itself is still fine. In my case it doesn't have to look perfect just want to stop it from drooping. This video was useful in showing how I might create those access point without damaging the outer liner.

Thanks for these videos, you sold me on the repair buttons instead, because there is no way I have the patience to do what you did! The buttons may not look good, but they will get the job done. Your's turned out great though, well done, my hat is off to you!

I just want that mug off, I'm 6'2 and the roof cloth was drooping on my head which was causing a safety hazard, and then I decided to use my sizzors to get that drooping cloth off of my head..... I did cut that piece out but, NOW !!! I have all of that dark yellow /brown foam crumbs everywhere, I didn't know this but, they stick to clothing like no other !!!! yeah, I just want that mug (headliner) off !!!!! Holy Crap! Now I know why they charge so much to do this. I just don't see that after I got all of these pieces off, that I would ever be able to get them all back correctly. I seems pretty intimidating (and I have repaired my own dishwasher, washing machine, toilet, replaced a toilet, installed a gas hot water heater, installed a disposal, replaced faucets -all on my own) Possibly I would attempt this, but I dunno

UPDATE : The easiest way is to leave it attached in the vehicle, pull the cloth off the headliner board, clean the deteriorated backing foam off the with a brush, clean the fallen debris out with a leaf blower. It looks way better, and no need to buy replacement cover material. All can be done in about 30 min. or less.

Turn back much harder then it looks, I did replace mine but never again. Would have been nice to know that the wires are all glued to the ceiling panel. If you do take this on be sure to label all the parts as they come off and all the wiring after you peal it off the roof panel. Good luck first and last.

Front bits are called sun visors but whatever.

I just ripped off the old headliner fabric. Left the old backing up. Took the new piece that has foam backing and just used a staple gun to put it up :) I sprayed the staples first with a color close to the fabric color and NO ONE has ever noticed the staples and it looks clean and nice. It''s an older caravan and not my main car, so who really cares.

Thanks Harry, this video helped me out a lot. The only problem I'm running into are the wires fixed to the headliner with silicone just behind the front seats. I can't find a harness for them anywhere. Did you just cut them and re-solder them later?

What about the wiring, the overhead console and the video player screen? That's really important that you don't show at all! What about the wiring that's glued to the headliner? is that on the next part?

So, what about the wiring harnesses? There is one on both sides at the sliding doors that go up the B pillar and onto the roof panel. Do these unhook or do you cut them and rejoin them later?

this a nightmare. I took off my headliner like 5 days ago but still haven't put it back. Reinstalling all the plastic peices that pop out of place is a pain in the ass. and they gotta be back AFTER you put the headlienr back in. So right now i dont have any seatbelt yet.

Looks like a pain up the butt 300 in a shop??? all these little things go wrong with the dodge van also power windows like 300 a window - AC goes out 300-400 more . I don't know if the dodge is cheap made because my dad has a chevy about the same year none of this has happen too his Chevy

So you can just pry off the paneling? I don't need to replace my head liner, I just need to make it like it was. After watching a few videos on the subject, I decided to remove and replace the headliner! According to your how to video, most of the paneling just pries off. You seem to have skipped over some crucial steps, like where does one start prying off the paneling. Or does it mater? Taking the lenses out of the overhead light. You, like all the other video on how to remove the headliner of the Chrysler T&C, say one needs to remove this and that, but don't show how to do it! For example, how does one remove the AC vents! You do not show how to do that, in fact you show how to do very little!
