How to Remove and Wrap your Side Mirror Cap On Your S550 Mustang

Күн бұрынIn this video I show you how to remove and then wrap your side mirror cap. It took about a half hour. The mirror is wrapped in Avery Gloss Orange and the rest of the car is wrapped in 3m Satin Key West.

For someone who doesn't do this as a full time, this is the best guide I've seen (including professionals). You get close and show what you're doing. Nice job man. I could've used this video when I was doing mine.

So the way I’ve seen it done before is take a piece and lay it where the window would go then heat up the material and shove the mirror cap in the material and use knife-less cut line to take off excess material

I’ve never seen them do that for side mirrors but I don’t see why that wouldn’t work. Normally that’s how they do the shark fin antenna. They make a tool to do like what you suggested but the cap stays on the car. That’s pretty neat. There’s definitely a lot of different ways to get it done.

is the side mirror cover just removable like that? you can just take it off and put it back no problem?

Correct. No screws, bolts or anything holding it in. It just pops in and out

Doesn't work for Hyundai accent! Please make a video for Hyundai accent not Elantra or any other Hyundai. Can't find any and this would be very helpful. Have searched everywhere and find nothing

Very descriptive but you pulled the cap straight off dude.. you need to pop the edge and one more then slide it to the side otherwise you do exactly what you did.. you break off the middle hooks that literally hold the mirror on haha.. now you will have to use some epoxy or double sided tape.. I hate how people don’t take the time to take it off properly.. take an extra 1 minute and take your time and save all the clips and hooks from breaking.. a dealer or auto body shop will literally take them off for you for free 90% of the time.. it takes them 2 minutes to take both off and they are perfect. Don’t tell people to do it this way without saying your literally making the stock Cap useless and it won’t stay on without double sided tape.. idiots!!

Well that’s 💯 bs. I removed mine and from the factory one side didn’t have any hooks and when I reinstalled them it’s solidly in place without tape.
