Dude, you are magical! So I had bought a MacBook Pro Early 2011 off eBay knowing it had a firmware password but shortly found out removing it by clearing PRAM or NVRAM was not possible. I bought a CH341A programmer off Amazon and through some digging around I was able to find the software and drivers needed for the removal of the password. Now I can say the password is removed and I'm free to install macOS High Sierra on it! Thanks a million!!!

Thank you for the upload. I've been looking everywhere on a video of someone doing eeprom resets on imac/macbooks with a CH341A and you're one of the very few showing how it's done. Thanks again!

@Mariano Barella yes it worked without a hitch! Since posting that 4 months ago, I've done about 6 imacs and also a couple macbooks doing the same method with the same programmer. No issues at all!

Recovered my A1418 with this method (board still in chassis). The clips are a pain in the arse cos they rarely aligb properly. Was 4th time before it was able to read and write for me. Removed lock and now installing OS again. Nice guide. Would be better if you linked the Ch341a software (mines a bit different) and HXD also (but that was easy to find).

nice video I tried and the bios imac 21.5 a1311 from 2010 reads it. but when I go to look for the file $ ... it tells me that it can't find it. and a password is present
