Did it last week and it was not possible to me without removing the steering column completely. Right screw was too hard to remove and the star inside (despite using proper T27) was destroyed. The screws are glued by Audi or something. In fact removing the column is easy, all you need to remove the shaft blockade up (looks kinda like fork and is kept by two screws from above) and pull the wheel with column away. Then you can do what you want with the accursed immobilizer box as the shaft stays in the car so all the screws are easily accessed (for me it included dremelling one of the T27 screws - impossible before). Then you dremel two bottom screws and finally voila - engine and PCB.

How did you remove the things that are under the steering wheel? my steering wheel regulator is locked and I need to remove the things from underneath to access it, can you help me?
