The 2 bolts under the wheel arch cover is not really necesary to be taken out, they only hold the braket in place and you can press down the 3 pins on above the braket to release the bumper.

Hello, are the black pieces on the sides supposed to sit on the bumper sides before installing? We put mine on the car first before mounting bumper but it doesn't seem quite right

Got it. Use a flat head or something to press on the front of the first piece you take off so you don’t break the clips holding it in.
