In this video I show how to safely remove a cell phone holder from your dash board. This cell phone accessory was attached with 3m style double sided tape. This method can be used on other types of dash accessory adhesives as well.

To everyone doing this, do not use isopropyl alcohol, nail polish remover, or anything like that if your dash is made of leather. Leather absorbs these chemicals and then becomes super soft and then pieces start to come off as you rub on it. Notice that he used leather conditioner in the video, which doesn't make the leather weak.

Depending on what type of adhesive it is, a Heat gun might help, or 3m adhesive remover. Just be careful and test an out of site area to make sure it won't mess up the finish.

Can I use oil to remove the sticky residue left on the dashboard?

It can, yes. Or vinyl dressing. It doesn't allow the adhesive to re attach as you move it around.

@@jameshamp9378 you can try a heating with a hair dryer, slowly rolling it or peeling it. It it is stubborn you may need some adhesive remover but I would try saturating it with some silicone vinyl dressing like armor all. It helps release the adhesive.

See I have it not on the dash but where the screen is at ..on that panel area will it work on there?

@@1thetvzone It should. Might want to use armor all dressing, and let it soak for penatration . Maybe even wD-40 would help.
