I tried several other cleaning hacks: 91% rubbing alcohol, Mr Clean Eraser, and Bar Keepers Friend. This is the only one that worked. My hat is off to you!

Thanks so much this is a life saver I dumpster dive and I found 6 of the big chalk boards that Fresh Market uses to write there specials on and I couldn’t get the writing off and this worked great . Now I can either sell them or use them if I have a yard sale or a special occasion. Awesome ( you’re the first video that popped up on KZfaq)

Really helpful! I tried erasing my chalk board that was stained for 2 months! It totally worked! I tried using certain products to clean my 2 month - chalk stuck on the chalk board, it didn't work. Even tried boiled water, didn't work, I used the scrub side once it didn't ruin the chalk board but it was ripping tiny peace's off the board. So this is useful and my parents let me buy the bleach and all that so I can clean it if I want to write something new every day. So thank you 😅👍🏻

I’ve found that Wrights Copper Cream with the sponge included worked very quickly, even when the chalk marker was on the board dried a while. I used so many different things and am finally happy I found something that works.

Instead of Comet, try to use baking soda. More environmentally friendly and works just as well.

on some boards I like to get the deep black to chalk contrast back by using a cotton square and drop of mineral oil. try on a small spare board first. If you let sit it will dry deeper black than water alone.

I use LA’S TOTALLY AWESOME all purpose concentrated cleaner and its super effective and easy (my chalk marker was on there for over 3 months and came off in about 5 minutes) the board looks brand new

Works like a charm, even with months-on paint, but I do feel like it removed a bit of the black color from my chalkboard. Do you find that repeated use wears off the chalkboard paint? (Disclaimer: I'm using a plain ol' chalkboard that's a good 15-20 years old so that might be part of it ^_^)

Hi! Do you know what do to, in case I want to paint a wedding sign but ON GLASS? I mean, if I use (for example) Posca or Molotow markers, do I need to seal with some thing? To keep the paint on the glass? And also, if the guys want to keep the frame, but erase the text I wrote on the glass, would it be possible? Even If I sealed it? Or that process isn't necessary?

Question. I'm having my sister use chalk markers on the back of my chalk easles for my wedding. One side has decals then the other is chalk. How easy will it be to smudge? Do you know?

Hi , can you help ? I Just wanted to check if you have any idea, what will happen to chalkboard if I use a removable sticker on top of the chalkboard…. Will it remove the “chalk Paint from the base" … I know it defeats the purpose of chalk wall. I Have a big wall to paint and only looking for short-cuts to put some fillers but don't want to ruin the paint on wall either ... it was expensive paint :)

In my classroom I have a whole wall that has been painted as a chalkboard. Currently I use old fashioned chalk, but I also have asthma problems with dust/airborne particles. You mentioned a "manufactured chalkboard", was it purchased or did you make it? My wall wa painted with the rustoleum Chalkboard paint. What markers do you use and do you have any suggestions on cleaning a wall, since it can't lay flat?

For anyone who has it - The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste worked great for me

This should be done in a bathtub, with a spray hose. Faster, easier, and more lubrication to protect the board surface from the scrubbing. Thanks, though, for your insights.

Maybe it’s the markers I use or it’s the board I have? I got my board from Aldi, $10. The markers are Liquid Dry erase. than can be used on a chalk board or dry erase board. NOTHING removes the the marker, unless I erase RIGHT away before it’s completely dry. I’ve tried Hot water, cold water, dish soap, degreaser, vinegar/baking soda, sunscreen (spray), nail polish remover. None of it works. The sunscreen helps maybe like 20% but I have to scrub so hard but I don’t like it bc it leaves a grungy feeling, almost like grease that has been built up over time. The nail polish remover helps about 20% as well, but I notice it the chalkboard finish coming off. Whatever item I scrub with, (rag, scrub daddy, magic eraser, paper towel) it turns black. And I can’t deal with the smell from the nail polish remover. HELP!!
