Very helpful video! The pace was perfect. You covered everything without talking too much. Camera angles were solid and I could see everything you were doing. One of my seals was leaking and I want to check the oil level. I will definitely check out more of your videos.

Well my 2011 R1 is quite stiff at the front so the mechanic suggested I get my shock seals changed. He explained how everything from the front needs to be replaced and that gave me a mini heart attack. After seeing how easily you took it apart, I'm now at peace knowing that its not that big of a deal. Thanks for the video, You're a real pro!

Just in the process of changing my forks on the vfr, this video has helped me in getting my head around it. I would love this stand, but I'm making do by using 2 tressles each Side with a bar across for a hoist.using towing rope around the top of the frame. Thanks for the video!

Im 17 I just bought myself a 04 cbr600rr needs a good bit of work like replacing the forks and after watching this video I feel pretty confident doing it but I'm definitely going to get help before doing it myself because I've watched videos on things much easier to do and came across problems that turned a half hour job into like a 5 hour job so im definitely not doing it by myself

Hello, how can you prevent to anodized bar not scratch or in the least, likewise have any idea that used to open the clamp without using a flathead screwdriver? Remenber that metal to metal are damaged, you have another recommendation for scratch not clamp? Thank you.

+César Mesias Removing the forks if done with care will not result in damage to the tubes. Spreading the triple clamp open won't damage the clamp if you are careful. Additionally it is not always necessary to spread the triple clamp open. - Van

Hey how's it going brother, I thought this video was very informational for someone that has never removed the front forks before, but I was wondering if it is about the same way for a 2008 Yamaha R6. I ask because I am pretty sure that my right side fork (if sitting on the bike) is leaking and I am attempting to repair this problem myself and I am just trying to get as much info on the full process as I can, especially when it comes to the removal. I mean it seems pretty straight forward but I am not really trying to fuck up anything on my bike hahaha. Any comments, suggestions, and/or opinions are completely welcome because this is my first time doing it and I just want to do it the right way.

Yes the process will be pretty much the same on the 2008 R6. Replacing fork seals is not very difficult IMO. It takes a couple special tools, some mechanical skill and patience. - Brian Van

Why do you not mark and measure with calipers the position of the forks before disassembly so that when they are reinstalled the alignment is spot on? Fork caps are level to the triple tree and forks are not twisted. Eyeballing it is cannot be precise.

hi there, Great video. Maybe you can assist me with a slightly different problem. I have a 1980s Moto Guzzi with 40mm forms and I'm going to make it more Cafe Racer styled but one thing I'd like to do is put better forks on the front. I'd quite like to use USDs and change the whole front end. What do I need to consider. If I change the Forks I need to change the yokes and probably the bearings too but I'm not sure what other considerations I need to make to get the rake and trail set up so it works and doesn't make the steering dangerous. Can you provide any pointers that may help me decide the best option. Thanks

You should not have to do that bud. If you have a proper front stand that lifts under the triple tree you should be able to slip out the forks as long as you have access to get all of the bolts out. - Brian Van

You'll probably want to service the forks too. You will need a fork spring compressor tool to do the job right. They have them on Ebay here www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-Motorcycle-Fork-Spring-Compressor-and-Damper-Rod-Holding-Tool-Kit-mfsc-/251680797288?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item3a99583268&vxp=mtr
