Great video, I was able to remove my cover in about 10 minutes. It's not heavy just awkward because it's bulky and can be a 1 person job. The reinstall however took a bit longer. If you are reinstalling the cover I would highly recommend loosening the L bracket bolts then it drops in really easy. For the reinstall it can be done with 1 person but I would recommend 2 people. My 12 year old son helped me and we had it reinstalled in about 15 minutes. Without my son it took me about 30 minutes

Good to know it's removable...was looking at a Santa Cruz higher trim where the cover is standard but wanted more bed space to haul a motorcycle inside...

Thank you for the video. I hope to get a Santa Cruz without the cover, but if that's just not possible, at least I now know that the job to remove it is simple.

You're welcome! Yeah, all of the higher trims come with the tonneau cover it seems. Either way you'll be fine though! In fact, there's quite a bit of demand for them it seems, so if you were to sell yours it could be worth a pretty penny.

It might be possible to do it yourself, but I’d recommend having another person there to help lift.

Heck yeah man! These little trucks are surprisingly versatile. No need to buy a lower trim to have a useful bed 👍

Well it’s good to know that it’s easily removable Now how about if my Santa Cruz didn’t come with that tonneau cover would it be just as easy to get one installed?

Instead of removing the bolts connecting the brackets to the bed, remove the ones connecting the bed to the brackets and the entire thing will just lift out if done correctly.

Doesnt matter if the cover was in or out the dirt bike aint fitting completely. Tailgate will have to be down no matter what. Just leave the cover on

With the tonneau cover on, my dirt bike tire sits just right on the very edge of the tailgate which makes me uncomfortable. Getting that extra 12 inches or so of bed space made a big difference, it's sits comfortably on the middle of the tailgate now 👍. 3:43

Thanks for the video! Were you able to fit your dirt bike on there? I have a DR 650 and I think it’ll fit on there diagonally, with the tonneau cover off

Yes, I was! See picture at 3:42 at end of video. With the front wheel's turned into each other I'm able to fit two 250 dirt bikes in the back actually! I also put a larger motorcycle in the back diagonally no problem.

Quick question. Do you know if those rings left where we took the bolts out are removal? I'm going to a different cover and it looks like they don't have those metal rings that were left over from the old cover? Thanks.

Hmm, they seem pretty solid to me, I'm not sure if they are removable. I haven't tried to take them off though.

I'm not selling mine unfortunately, but there are several aftermarket options! You might be able to find one used as well.

It's not perfectly water tight, but it drains pretty well. It tends to leak a bit near the tailgate.

@@bshelley234 Most water leaks from the underside of the cover release handle. Put a bead of silicone around the black rectangle plate on the underside of the handle and it'll eliminate 70% of water that gets inside.

There’s really not, the only cheaper one is a soft cover, a trifold hard cover will set you back over $1k. ,this was really fast to uninstall, and proved nice lockable storage.
