When you delete it, it goes to your recycle bin. So might as well transfer that file from recycle bin to another file group in library

Just right click on home screen and select view- show desktop icons-uncheck it When needed just go and recheck the show desktop icons EASY!!

This is wrong. It deletes the shortcut. I want to delete the ICON but leave the shortcut intact. That's what your video title claims but that's not what you showed. You're wasting people's times by mislabeling your own video. If I'm wrong, please enlighten me.

all you have to do is go to files, click on desktop, and then just move the file/item you want to remove from your desktop screen without deleting is. EX: drag a file from desktop to downloads and it removes it from your desktop screen.

right way to do that: 1.Right click on empty space on desktop 2.Then find option,,,View,,,, 3.Then find option,,,Show desktop icons,, 4.Then unselect it and its done 5.when you want them back again select that option and the will show up

This is the actual solution that everyone is looking for instead all are getting some other solutions. In this you not only remove the desktop icons but you don't have to do all the other stuff like moving files and deleting stuff. Just plain stuff!. Thanks!.
