Hey guys, in this video we will show you how to remove the instrument cluster gauges on Mercedes W211. If you need to replace it you will need to program the new cluster in order to work right. We demonstrated on a 2003 Mercedes e320 instrument cluster removal. Many companies offer instrument cluster repair that way you do not need to buy a new one and have it programmed. Awesome, you guys are great. I needed to remove the cluster assembly so that I can replace the LCD display. about 30% of the pixels are dead where it shows info. part # is HLM7844. I need to open the cluster (it has clips to allow access inside the assembly) and disconnect the old LCD with the new one. It is a simple ZIF type connection for the display.

fantastic video auto repair guys! is there a way you can remove the plastic cover in front of the gauges as i'd like to change the colour of the cluster. example from black to silver. if so how do i do this?

I have a 2001 E320 and nothing on display works until it warms up with the exception of the turn signals on display. Everything from speedo, gauges, tach and radio take around 45 minutes to start working. Any clue what I need to fix?

If the cluster is replaced with a used cluster from another Mercedes-Benz, then the miles will no longer show on instrument cluster. You will only see dashed lines in the cluster. When a new or used cluster is installed, for it to properly display the odometer, you will need SCN coding from a mechanic or dealership that has the MB SD Connect Compact Star Diagnostic Tool or Xentry software, similar to if you needed a replacement key fob. The reason is to prevent fraudulent odometer readings.

Wow my 2005 Mercedes Benz e320 was running and driving great then one of my low beam lights went out so I went to AutoZone got the bulb and changed it myself then shortly afterwards the lights on my instrument cluster went out now at nights I can't see the instrument cluster so is this a fuse problem with something electrical or do I have to change out the entire instrument cluster?

Hello guys, if I change the cluster assembly, gonna lose the mileage? Or no? I think the information is save on the computer of the car, so gonna have the original mileage?

Does anybody know If I put a new cluster will it show the original miles on the car? Or the miles from the donor? My old cluster is faded so I can’t see the original miles
