I spilled an ice tea on my console and it started malfunctioning turning on and off. The keys were sticking and seemed to be causing the problem. This video helped me take it apart and remove the MMI module. Afterwards I opened the MMI case and removed the circuit board. I then remove the rubber casing and sprayed a traffic lane cleaning agent for carpet on the keys both front and back: Note- I did not spray the circuit board itself. I soaked it in hot water after spraying it for 15 minute, took it out and blow dried it. To test it I simply put the module back together and plugged it in and it worked. Just make sure it's dried well before plugging it in. Thanks

I've only just picked up on this subject after a small coffee spill in my A6 & your video popped straight up. It's straight to the point & already dismantled, so cuts out the boring bits & best of all.... no BS waffle being drolled out by a Jabber Jaw!! Good stuff you guys 10/10!!

Thank you for this video, I just bought a 2011 A6 Allroad and after a few weeks the MMI control buttons were sticking down and only working occasionally. Watching this video showed me how to strip it down and clean the MMI unit. Looked like a coffee spillage passed on from the previous owner.

How do i remove the buttons from the wooden part that you removed? The chrome trim around the shifter as well, i have a 2009 Audi S6 and my 'map' button is showing wear. thanks!

Nice video. A couple comments... you do not need the audi tools. Just wrap some floss or some wire through and back out and you can pull it out. Also the removal is easy but some may find disconnecting the wiring the more difficult part of the job.

Hi just to let you all know to remove the control panel remove the chrome trim then push the the control panel from underneath and it will pop out
