Permanent marker is a tough stain to remove. However, it is possible with the right tool. Therefore, if you have some permanent marker scribbled on your wall, table, or other surfaces; don't worry about it. This video will show you 3 methods you can use to remove the permanent marker. Magic Eraser worked wonders for taking the sharpie doodle I drew on my Moleskin journal. It didn't damage the cover at all, just took off the sharpie, and had no odors to deal with.

@Ben_85 if it is the slippery plastic-like Jersey material you may be able to use a Mr. Clean eraser. If it isn’t, try washing by hand with some dish soap. Or take it to a dry cleaner.

Thanks for the video. My little one got a hold of a permanent marker and went to town. I didn’t have time to clean immediately so the marker sat in for about a week. Tried the wd and did quite do it. The eraser by itself didn’t do anything. A litter squirt of 90% alcohol and then the eraser did the trick.

It may work, but since the clipboard is so porous you may have a tough time.

That’s a tricky one. If the hat is fabric then you’ll have to be careful not to pull the dye out of the fabric along with the marker. WD-40 would be your safest option but it may not be strong enough. I’d start with that. Then, wash the hat with in the washing machine with your next load of laundry.

The WD-40 May work. However, on fabric it would be best to use a product made for fabric that way the colors won’t bleed.

Hey man any advice for cleaning it off a Disc golf disc? Ive tried everything and now im about to start letting the solution sit on it for a long period since - NOTHING WORKS! - even if i combine all 3 of these or use white vinegar nothing it taking the sharpie off the hard plastic disc Any thoughts? Strange that the Mr. Clean eraser and acetone doesn’t take it off. You could try using gasoline or rubbing alcohol. Let us know what you find out!

The magic eraser would definitely work. You could use both of the eraser doesn’t work by itself. Be careful not to scrub too hard or you may remove more than the autograph.

unforturnately none of these worked for me. I bought a used piece of granite that had the price marked in permanent marker. Got most of it off, but the last little bit still shows through. can still read the price. any other ideas?

Granite is tough. You can try a dry erase marker or rubbing alcohol.

If the wall is sealed then you could try any of these methods. However, if it is unsealed then the marker has soaked in and getting it out will be tough. You’ll probably have to treat a large area because you’ll end up bleaching the marker area and it’ll look much different.

I’d try the magic eraser first. Be careful not to scrub so hard that you remove the finish from the basketball.

Isopropyl alcohol also works very well for normal, non-pro, Sharpie markers. Magic Eraser contains an abrasive that will finely scratch most surfaces… so just be aware of that. It’s not magic. It’s just like sandpaper.

The polish remover doesn’t say 50% acetone. Maybe if you have the real acetone I would think it will work. The one you have says regular!?

The nail polish remover you was using doesn’t seem like it was acetone nail polish remover. Normally it’s a blue label.
