How to remove Range Rover Evoque Rear Tailgate Trim Strip

In this video we look at how to remove the rear boot tailgate trim strip on our 2011 Range Rover Evoque. This maybe handy if you want to replace the number plate lights, boot release lock, rear view reversing camera.

I had the Evoque 2012 with Surround Camera System. Took camera from drivers side mirror to replace backup camera. Mirror cameras seem much easier to remove than the front camera. Just a tight space in mirror for a screwdriver. Only had to pop off the mirror to access camera.

My camera apparently isnt fully sealed, because it gets foggy. Any suggestions how to seal it myself?

If I remove this and then reinstall the part do I have to reprogram or reset the computer or will it continue working with no error codes?

I think land rover say if you fit a new camera then re-calibration is required but it does not seem necessary in practice.

Have you tried to do an upgrade to a powered tailgate? Would be a good upgrade!!

What tool is this you are using? Where can I get one from? I can’t seem to remove this panel on my car and I’m worried about breaking the clips using the wrong tool. Thanks

Hi Rhys You can search ebay for "plastic trim tool set" and you will find lots and cheap !

Also, when we buy the new strip, does it come with all the parts that you disconnected but that stayed on the panel? Like do we just plug the new one into the wiring that you unplugged

Water. A lot of it. The entire passenger side floor is like a swimming pool.

ok - does it smell of anti freeze or is it more like rain water ?

Just water. It basically happens if it rains or the snow melts. I think there's a drainage hose popped somewhere but I have to clue where to even start.
