It's best to soak injectors in PB Blaster or WD40 for a day or two before removing. Also, typically no more the 20 NM on each glow plug when removing. Lastly, start to tighten first, then slowly begin to remove, then tighten and remove and hopefully they will come out without a problem. Some like to warm the engine too and then let cool off slightly before removing. The key is not to put too much torque on them while removing.

Excellent work. I used the same set last year and while I broke the stepped drill bit, it did enough to allow me to get the rest of the glow plug out. You’re lucky the tip of the glow plug didn’t stay in the cylinder head. That’s even more of a nightmare job

It's easy when the plugs are on the top or front. Try getting them out around the back..

I wish glow plugs had stronger material 😧 I snapped two of my glow plugs on my previous Astra H 1.3 CDTI. Took her to a mechanic, but he had to stop midway because he could see outcome if he continued drilling. I have a Astra H 1.7 Cdti now with 4 working glow plugs. Maybe my mistake was that i tried replacing the glow plugs while the engine was cold and not hot 🤔 I am kinda terrified to do this again, but at the same time, i wanna try again.

You mentioned that you used 5mm drill bit for the inner aperture of the glow plug, could this have been the reason why it snapped the first two times ? The walls became too thin after the drilling and threading. I need to do this job myself and I'm thinking about using a 4.25mm drillbit and make an M5 thread in the glow plug. What do you think ?

so you couldn't remove central electrode by using slide hammer but you removed it by pliers just like that ?

your drill bit is too big which causes a thin wall to snap the stock tip of the glow plug.

....why didn't you use the liqui moly dismantling fluid again and again
