Many thanks for this. Really helpful and clear guidance. Understanding how the clips spread out via the pins on the cover trim prevented me from trying to mash the whole lot off in one shot! That way I only needed a replacement for the broken clip and could reuse the cover trim. Nice one. Thanks again 👍🏻

Great! Perfect. I can see why you advise against using metal. The amount of pressure required might tear the headliner if you use metal, but not plastic. I used two credit cards stacked together. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for the video. Short and helpful: the perfect combination. That said, what is behind all these KZfaqrs wearing gloves for these low risk tasks? I mean, a paper thin nitrile glove offers no pinch protection whatsoever, and I'm unaware of any evidence that the covid virus lurks under a visor clip.

One thing not covered here, with a new visor clip those barbs that expand are tight and you'll need a good amount of pressure to get the housing bracket back on.

@@TotalTechnik I took a look and it would appear as though the design of the mount changed (the mounting in my B8 A5 featured the same screw mount as seen in prior generations while the mount in the B8 A4 I'm working on doesn't have a screw). I had a look online and it would seem that the visor itself and the mounting clip are sold as one unit. I f it's going to cost $250 I'll just live with a slightly saggy visor. It seems to have been removed at some point because the entire mounting assembly is loose rather than just the visors connection to the clip. I have a feeling pulling it apart may just further weaken the clip.
