Just bought the steering wheel trim piece, for safety, to stop the airbags from deploying accidentally i would just need to disconnect the negative/black from the battery?

I’ve never worked on a taco to be honest, but I can’t imagine it would be too much different!… Just make sure to disconnect negative side of the battery to avoid any issues with airbag… Let me know how you make out!

I have an annoying small vibration coming from the left steering wheel plate where the volume up/down button is etc. I'm going to take it apart and try to find out what is vibrating but has anyone else had this?

Hmm, that’s weird…sounds like one of the screws may be loose, they definitely shouldn’t vibrate…haha…let me know how ya make out!

Hey I need help my bolts aren’t removing the airbag part. Any idea??

Those bolts don’t come all the way out, I’ve seen several people get thrown off by that…loosen them as much as ya can and they’ll just kinda hang there after ya pull airbag off…let me know if that helps!

Nice! I just ordered a piece from AJT Design to replace mine. Didn't realize you have to mess with the Airbag. I know you disconnect the negative wire, due to a chance of it going off while messing with it, but is it all possible when you connect it back it could still go off? Just worried messing with the air bag that is all. I know its not much you need to do....

When you're taking the old steering wheel off and putting the new one on, how hard is it to get it centered again?

I’ve actually never done a complete wheel swap, although I do have my eyes on an aftermarket wheel right now...if I swap em, I’ll make sure to do a video for the channel...hopefully someone can chime in to help ya out!

That I’m honestly not sure of, I’ve never done it on a Taco...I would disconnect the negative side of battery and wait 5 mins...then check and see if you have those 2 bolts on the side of the wheel...let me know how ya make out!

I was trying to look for a video on removal of the side kick panel (driver side). I pull the top potion of it off but not sure if there's a clip to lock it back in place?

Hello sir!...I got my side steps off eBay, only $150...they’re almost identical to the Nfab Predator Pros that cost approx $600 give or take...and they’re holding up strong, going on a few months now and no problems at all!

When you loosed the t30 screws did you have any trouble getting them all the way out? I tried but it seems the screws, all the way loosened, are still catching a little bit not letting me remove the airbag

They actually don’t come all the way out, you just spin em until they’re all the way loose and you’re good to go..,they’re made that way so ya don’t lose em, hope that helps!

Any advice on what to do for when I put everything back together and now none of my controls work anymore.....

First thing I would do is take it back apart and make sure the little “white pegs” are all in place...when I took mine apart for the first time I had one of them fall out, and if I didn’t see it fall I never would have known until I put it all back together and realized the button didn’t work...if they’re all in place, make sure wiring isn’t pinched anywhere...let me know if either of those fix the issue!

Those white pegs I mentioned are the pieces that actually activate the button you press, without those pegs you can press the buttons all ya want and nothing will happen...hope that makes sense!

What paint did you use? Did you sand them or primer them?

Just used plasti dip for now to make sure I like em...if this doesn’t last I’ll use actual paint...all I did was clean them with alcohol, then applied 4 coats of black dip, then 2 coats of “onyx black” dip to give it a slight shimmer when sun hits it

The dip started to peel off, I think it’s because it’s an area that you’re constantly touching…my badges on the exterior of truck are still going strong a year and a half later…so I did end up painting them…hope that helps!

Not bad at all, disconnect negative terminal of battery and you have nothing to worry about!
