I have an apartment in Binh Tan, well rather my missus has, I stay there when I'm in Vietnam. For 3 million per month I get access to a stair master gym work out. I have to climb 3 stories to the top floor before I can take a genuine Buddhist monk cold shower. I have beautifully polished tiles to sleep on, I did however spit the dummy and bought a mattress. I live in an intelligent neighbourhood set of buildings complete with roosters that go beserk every morning at 4:30 am. Sleeping in is not an option. My drinking habits and poor physical health is generally cured within a week of being there. And you know, it's why I love Vietnam. Cam On Vietnam, you have saved me from dereliction.

High rises in Vn are fire death traps. Only yesterday 56 people died in a fire in Hanoi. Securty deposits are mostly not refunded. Oh? How do I know? Well, I've lived in Vn since 1988. Righty now rents are the cheapest they have been for a long time due to a huge property crash. Real estate here is based on speculation only. Lots cannot sell their units so they are desperate to rent, meaning a huge surplus of supply. Most digtal nomads got to Da Nang. I don't like it there personally. Nha Trang is overtaken by Russian tourits and Russian Mafia. Forget the Mekong. Too loud and too hot. The best for me is Da Lat in the central highlands. This is a cooler paradise place to live. Vn is bad for visas. There is no retirement visa. But you can now get a 90 days multi entry tourist visa. Cheers.
