How to Repair Broken Badminton Racket Frame using SUPERGLUE
This video shows you how to repair a broken cracked badminton racket with superglue as well as replacing worn/damaged/missing grommets along with replacing its grip too. Finally, the racket was restrung as well as had stencil applied to it to look AMAZING!
The repaired racket was also playtested and turned out great! It's a great way to recycle a broken racket and keep it playing.

you can use super glue + baking soda. put super glue into the cracks and then add baking soda inside it, and add super glue again, keep repeating until cracks are filled. very sturdy, and you can keep repeating until the racquet actually breaks.

If its just a paint chip (racket losing paint bits), there's nothing to worry about. If you can see a physical crack, this superglue technique might help!

Didn't know that you used to play with the OG Nanoray Z-Speed. How'd you like the racket? The orange version is way more popular in China because of it's lighter head (lower swing weight compared to the yellow version based on tests on the Yonex Precision Scan).

You won’t be able to string at your usual tension after a crack

It depends where the crack is, if the string is blocking the crack, i'm afraid you wont be able to restring your racket above 16/18lbs after gluing 😬

Yeah, give it a go!! No harm and nothing to lose anyways! Typically no balance issues with superglue ones so good luck! And yes; much lower tension, this one survived 22lbs as they could potentially crack or break again. I’ve had a few which turned out with a bulge (this one didn’t) after stringing but it doesn’t matter as it was end of life anyways. Its more extending the life of the racket for someone who needs a racket or an absolute beginner instead of a full tension repair 😬😬

After you have applied the superglue, you can sprinkle baking powder over it which will soak up the residual superglue very quickly which means that you don't have to worry about it sticking to anything else! Also, if you remove the nearby grommets they wont get superglued in - if superglue goes in the holes you can use a small-sized drill to remake the hole 🙂

Hellooo, this is a last resort method really. You've ALREADY broken your racket so there should be no expectations on its lifespan after its glued. It might be OK to give the glued racket to a kid as their first racket but you cannot expect it to perform like a brand new racket. Good luckkkkk!

Sorry to hear about your racket but if it has broken then it might be impossible to save it anymore. But since you're able to keep playing with it then keep doing so until it is unplayble? Perhaps start looking for a new racket too along the way??

You shouldnt have any paint come off your stringing machine before/after you mounting your racket.

Yes, it should not directly touch the supports. In my case, my supports are like straight poles so there is huge pressure in just one area of the racket causing paint lost. You need to get load spreaders.

Good question. Most grommets are fairly tight fitting so anything in there which reduces the diameter of the hole would've made it impossible to reinsert the grommet.

It sounds like you have a steel or aluminium racket as graphite/carbon rackets would've cracked instead of being bent. You might be able to reshape it slightly 😬

I am very doubtful this will hold, the superglue filling the crack is just not strong enough, it will likely open up again while stringing under uneven tension, and I have repaired well over a hundred broken racquets some with two breaks and they can be strung to any tension as allowed for the racquet and play almost just good!

This method is certainly a last resort attempt at making a racket playable compared to binning it immediately. It certainly won't restore it to its brand new condition so everyone's milage will vary.

Does not work with high tension (28lb). It cracked after stringing with 28lb.

Yep, once a racket has cracked, its ready for the bin. This repair will only suffice for casual games at low stringing tensions.

I have a friend who repair rackets. He put carbon in it, and is very solid and durable. I was able to restrung a repaired racket by myself at 15kg (33lbs). I can show picture of his finished job if anyone is interested.

Yeah, superglue worked but for how long? You probably have to reapply superglue every week or after a few shots.

You shouldnt expect a racket to perform like brand new after supergluing it. Its only a light fix.

@@CKYew "Expecting the racquet to perform as new after being fixed with superglue" is not what I implied or expect. Fixing the racquet with superglue is worthless. You should either get a new racquet or use a more permanent fix like using carbon fiber and epoxy

Can i ask a question?.i just bought a astrox 99 but when i recived it it has a crake on its frame😥😥😥 do i realy need to cut the string?. Or if i apply super glue in it and i didnt cut the strings of.what will happened it will stay the same?.just really need your help right now.....😥😥🤕😞

If you’ve bought a racket and it came cracked, you should contact your retailer immediately as something has happened somewhere. They should be able to help you out. Do not apply anything to the racket, nor cut the strings. Take lots of photos and send it through to the retailer immediately.
