This was an extremely easy fix -- 1 out of 10 for difficulty. I was so tired of looking at that old tired wall with the cracks it was time to do something about it! I am happy with the results. But now I have to paint the lower half!

I've also seen this done using clear latex caulk and use a sponge to remove all the caulk on the face. The crack is close to imperceptible, enough so that painting isn't really needed. Of course fresh paint is always nice!

Thank you for this tutorial! We just bought a home and our home inspection discovered some hairline cracks in our stucco related to settling. Thought we were going to have to hire a professional to repair. But after finding this video, I realized what an easy repair this is that I can do myself. Thank you for saving me money!

Make sure to use a caulk that won’t flash or if you paint it with flat stucco paint it will look shiny

How would you go about repairing a poorly done repair? Basically they caulked the cracks but didn’t feather it in w a brush or sponge. Now I have large caulk smears over where the repair was--any suggestions??

I think I’d try some isopropyl alcohol and a stiff brush to clean it up, and start fresh.

my painter put on too thick then painted. now it shows ( hairline type cracks). how can he redo so cracks do not show. thx

It's probably not your painter's fault. Caulk shrinks as it cures. I'm guessing that's happening. It's ok to put another bead of caulk on top of it, and re-paint the area.
