This video shows you how to replace the 12 volt cigarette lighter fuse. The front 12v socket fuse box is behind the dash.

I just changed the fuse, everything fine until having to get my hand in the small square to pull out the fuse and getting the new in 😭 but I did it! Thanks to you I knew what I was supposed to do.

Right? What a crazy place for a fuse! I suggest needle-nose pliers if you have to change it again. They made a huge difference. I got the longest, thinnest pair I could find.

This video is old now, but I just used it to change a fuse on my 2020 Renegade. If I can do it... anybody can. I recommend forgoing the fuse puller. It's a really tight space and an awkward angle, so you need a tool long enough that you don't have to stick your hand in there. I did not know they made 11" needle-nose pliers, but I'm really glad they do. I could have saved myself an hour of frustration, sore knees, and some arm skin if I had started with them.

Thanks so much for making and posting this. I particularly appreciated that you noted the type of fuse required (ATM) and the type of driver for the screws in the dash (torx). I looked for this info for hours in the Renegade documentation and couldn't find it. Now I can fix my fuse!

Thanks! Super helpful. A little hiccup though, while trying to remove the fuse with that yellow tool, it shot out from my hand and I have no clue where it went back there. Needle nose pliers worked fine to remove the bad fuse.

Thank you for this comment! I struggled with that crappy extractor for an hour, then saw this comment. Went to the store, got some nn pliers, and had the fuse changed in 30 seconds.

I m having exactly the same fuse out..it was blown by the electric air pump it came with the car but some how it shorted it self and shorted the power charger too ,thanks for the video

Thanks for the clear video and giving the fuse type ATM, odd this is not mentioned in the user manual. Helpful tip; I found removing two square connectors between the banks of fuses made more space for my hand to remove/insert the fuse. FYI there is plenty of space for a fuse tap should you be looking for always on power (blue F36) and/or ignition power (blue F94) for say a dashcam.

JeepRenegadeGuy, I loved the fuse replacement video....i have a 2017 renegade and the rear window washer is not working . Do you have any tips on taking apart the rear spoiler so I can look and see if the hose is disconnected? (The fluid actually leaks our the rear panel to the street, so obviously the pump works . Thx!

Cool tutorial, but please note that on a 2.4L auto, the fuse box faces forward to the left and you would have to take front plastic panel completely off for better access - overall easy swap, just kinda a pita to get to...thank you

Thank you for the video, the owners manual and pdf download from jeep both useless and without the video i’d still be looking thru 697 pages. This was and is a pia to change. The removal tool provided is of little help but knowing where it is half the battle

I broke my fuse puller and lost a fuse down in that compartment first time i did it. Sure is a wacky place to put the fuses.

I just learned that if you want to have constant power to the cargo 12v DC power outlet, you just have to move the 20 amp fuse from bay F18 to bay F30. No more need to have ignition on. :)

changing the size of the fuse does not change where the wire are routed. You need to have the key on or change a wire .

@Trisha Bowman Exactly. One of the bays has no fuse in it by default, so this completes the circuit.

Great video, But it's almost impossible to reach the fuse easily, you need to find someone with tiny hands or get a really long pliers.

Need help, I have a question for a 2015 renegade. There’s an outlet in the back of the center console. What can I use this outlet for? What’s the highest voltage or wattage I can use without damaging my battery? How does this affect the battery? Thank you to whoever helps me lol

Not sure if you monitor this. I’m having a problem where my FOB is not being detected and there’s no power to those fuses that you just messed with. Do you happen to know which fuse/relay feeds power to those fuses?

Hello, not sure if you still monitor this video but I have an issue with the buttons on my steering wheel on my Renegade. I think it's the fuse.. but I can't find out which one to replace!! During a stop start moment it completely died then it stopped working, all the buttons on the steering wheel and the stop start system. All other electrics work fine.

Check the owners manual for what fuse it would be and then you can use this guide to get to the box and see if it is blown

They could make it like some vehicles and put it the rt. side of the dash since they have that access in that location anyway. Also, increase this circuit to 20 amps since it is the flat tire air pump that comes with the Renegade. There is a serious lack of 12 vdc outlets after all it is a off road. Make it a standard feature on 4 x 4 only. No full size or even a doughnut spare tire kind a bad for trail riding too.

Hello i told my husband to change it almost 1 month and nothing so I did my self today and It was easy .. unfortunately it's not the fuse . Any idea was wrong?
