Thank you! My cylinder was dragging on the floor in my new-to-me chair with a plastic base. I had an old chair with a nice metal base and both chairs had the clips on the bottom. Your video helped me to remove the clips and swap bases to give my chair a repair/upgrade for free!

Over the years, I have brought home several chairs with those 5-leg bases on them and I have never seen a single one of them where the support column sticks out the bottom like that. On every chair I've seen, the bottom of the column is practically flush with the bottom of the base.

You can also put the column back together before you slide it in the base, then just sitting in it will set it in place.

I have a Ak racing chair and have had it for a long time and one of the welds snapped so I need a new base but for the life of me I cannot get the old on off it’s like stuck to other piece in the base

Try to hammer the base away from the cylinder a little harder or much harder 😅 till it separates from the base. Update me if you succeed goodluck😊✌️

I ordered a steel base for my chair, but there is a iron ring kind of thing on the hydraulic which i think was there to fill up the place for the plastic base from before...so the steel base isn't fitting in top of that right now, so can someone please tell me if it's safe for me to remove that ring and install the base directly on the hydraulic?

Yes you don't have to. But since the bearing is inside the cylinder when i pull it, i need to remove it and send it back 😊

Thanks bro. i will try to explain. With the size of the base you have to check the the circumference of the column, the one in the middle,. it should be the same circumference on the middle hole of the base. Did i answer your question? let me know thanks bro!

But my chair's base is attached with that pump. I mean my chair has no pump(that pipe thing) There is a rod which is attached with the base, and I leg of the base has broken. I don't know how to fix it? Can you help

Hi there you can check this link for the pump if it is what you are looking for amzn.to/3M0sRRD. You have to hammer around the base to release the rod that is attached then replace it with a new cylinder and a new base. Check out my description for your base and cylinder replacement. My column is really stuck and doesn't stick out the bottom like this chair. I use rubber mallet, small hammer and normal hammer. The lifter came out but column is still stuck. I have used penetrating oil but still stuck. I'm trying to avoid replacing the base. Any suggestions?

Try hammering the base around the column see if it works. Let me know. Or hammer it upside down.

Try using a hammer. Just gently hammer the base around the cylinder to loosen 😊 Let me know what happen ok😊
