Hello everyone, my name is Martin from RPM Auto Accessories. In this detailed tutorial, I’ll guide you through the process of changing a flat tire from start to finish. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a beginner, this video will provide you with all the essential steps and tips needed to safely and efficiently replace a flat tire. Let’s get started!
Video Highlights:
1. Checking for Wheel Locks: Ensure you have the wheel lock key specific to your vehicle.
2. Finding the Jacking Point: Locate and verify the correct jacking points using your owner’s manual or online resources.
3. Jacking Up the Car: Safely raise the vehicle using a jack, and ensure it’s on a flat surface with wheel chocks in place.
4. Removing the Lug Nuts: Use a 21 socket and impact wrench to remove the lug nuts.
5. Assessing Tire Damage: Check if the tire is repairable; in this case, we replace a tire with a sidewall puncture.
6. Deflating the Tire: Remove the valve core stem and allow all the air to escape.
7. Breaking the Tire Bead: Use appropriate tools to break the bead on both sides of the tire.
8. Using a Tire Machine: Properly set and clamp the wheel, and remove the old tire while avoiding damage to TPMS sensors.
9. Installing the New Tire: Apply lube to the tire beads and use the tire machine’s robo arm and roller for assistance.
10. Inflating the Tire: Set the tire pressure according to the vehicle’s specifications.
11. Balancing the Tire: Remove old weights, balance the tire accurately, and add new weights as needed.
12. Reinstalling the Wheel: Secure the wheel back on the vehicle, hand-tighten the lug nuts, and lower the car safely.
