Hey Tom, my Uncle taught that to me 50 years ago. He taught everything automotive to me when I was 15 saying "you will thank me for this when you get your own car" . I loved helping him fix things, not just cars. Turned out my first "car" was an Air Force surplus Dodge D-200 crew cab with the big slant 6 and 4wd manual four speed I got at Griffiths AFB near Syracuse, NY. You just can't kill those engines no matter what you do with them. I put a Meyers snow plow on it and made a pile of money snow plowing in the Winter, and landscaping the rest of the year. The Dodge cost me $300 at auction in 1974. I undercoated it with toilet ring wax thinned with linseed oil to keep the body and frame from rusting, and that really worked much better than undercoating in a spray can. It filled the rust pits and stuck much better than the asphalt undercoating. I sold the truck in 2001, and it is probably still driving around somewhere.

Just wanted to say a big thank you! I watched your video several times before changing the valve stem on my Chrysler town and country today. You saved me both time and money. I really appreciate informative videos like this one. It only took me under an hour from removing the tire, breaking the seal, adding the new valve stem, and adding air back to the tire. Now I know how to do this if needed in the future. Thanks again!

I liked the use of the screwdriver to hold your jack handle together. I lost the nut to the bolt that holds my jack together so I stuck the bolt back in & used electrical tape to hold it in as a temporary fix.

My valve stem break is on the outside of the rim, so I am thinking of throwing some kind of putty or epoxy or something, enough to seal the break in the stem but not so much that getting it out of there to replace it will be difficult... But now that I've seen how simple it is to pop the tire far enough off the rim to do it the right way, I might just grab my hydraulic jack and give it a go. I really don't have the extra $25-$35 to take the tire to a shop right now, but $4 I can swing. And I have all of the tools available except the compressor but I can take the tire to Wawa when I'm done for that
