How to replace a UPVC window handle

A quick video on replacing a handle on a UPVC window, very esy to do, 2 screws, one hidden under a cap, that other under the handle.
Check the screw length of the new screws, are the same, don't use too long ones which may damage to window! Enjoy
Here is an Amazon link to a good Yale handle I have used, this has two extra spindles (the square bar) at different lengths. The standard one, in the handle as it comes, is 40mm long and works in my windows. The other two are 15mm and 30mm and may be useful if you have thinner windows or are unsure which handle to get (this is an affiliate link where I earn a huge commission! lol)

Helpful but I will have to cut the long bit- spindle? So working out how to cut it.....will look at another video

Didnt quite get to finishing....first screw for handle is in but the handle wont turn for me to put the other screw in 😢

Sorted it, needed to fit handle in 90 degree position

@@FatManBuilds Hi there, I am a bit stuck and wondering if you can help me. I took the old handle off the window and am looking at the new handle. The instructions are telling me to put the new spindle in but there is already a very short spindle in the new handle. I am really confused because I can't see how to put the new spindle in if there is something already in there and I can't seem to figure out how to get it out! Help!

@@user-kc5pf5wx4d Hi there, you are halfway there if you have the handle off! So now you can either use the spinble already in the window, or the new one. You can use the old one it will be fine. All you need to do is pull on the spindle in the new handle and it will slide out, wiggle it as you pull. Then the handle will slide over the existing spindle. Then put the screw in. Let me know how you get on.

Thank you so much! I am proud to finally say that I managed to change the handle. The spindle that was in there was hard to pull out but it came out in the end. I have never done anything like this before and I can't believe I actually did this. Your video was very calming and helped so much!!!
