I salute you for doing this in a parking garage. I did this work to my daughter's Ford Focus in 2016. I replaced the compressor, acumulator, orifice tube and condenser. It cooled Great for 5.5 years. Now it's 2023 and the accumulator has failed. I have to replace the accumulator and orifice tube and flush the system. Like someone else said, if you go through the trouble and expense of replacing the Compressor, you should change the acumulator and orifice tube also. They are like filters in the system and they are cheap and you can bet if your Compressor has failed it has trashed the other two and a good chance the condenser is trashed too.

Subscribed! You seem to work on a lot of the cars and problems I have for vehicles I support. I'm not a real mechanic, I'm an "accidental mechanic". You have very good presentation and information. I see the improvements you've made in your content since the first video I commented on. I suggest adding to your video closing, a line like "if you have any tips for this job that could help others, please leave your tips in the comments below". As I said in the earlier comment, there's no reason your channel couldn't get to 100,000+ subscribers and make some real money if you keep grinding. You're at 618 subscribers now. In another year, I'll look for it to get to 20,000 and then 100,000 the next year. Best wishes!

You did well with this video. The only thing I think you missed was considering amateurs and first timers will be using this as their guide, you skipped performing a vac leak back test to show it's leak tight and clean, critical steps in a proper compressor replacement!

Let me put my input into this, The belt tensioner ended up being a 15mm. To take off the top mounting bolt I used a 13mm short with a swivel to a 3 inch extension. For the bottom 2 bolts I used a 13mm wrench (12 point) only because there is not much room to move around. Also to make it easier leave the top mounting bolt, then and pop off the 10mm bolt for the lines by using a swivel socket on a short 10mm and a 12 inch extension and go between the 1st and 2nd cylinder intakes. Takes less time and is simpler to do. Past that 10/10 vid man. I appreciate the help. Edit - Forgot to mention you use the wrong refrigerant oil. You used R1234YF and it needs R134A. I bought some at Autozone for $13 and got 8 fluid ounces. 4 extra if needed. One last thing I love the calm music you have playing in the background of the vid.

this is about the same as what I used in the video. its a pag oil that is compatible with a few different refrigerants.

@@TheKZfaqMechanic I mean for the cost of the bottle you might as well go for the 134A. Not a big deal but I like to avoid mixing refrigerated liquids.

sure but the reason I chose that bottle is because it had 4oz of oil. I needed 4oz and I didn't want to measure. the cost doesn't matter to me since the customer pays. the 134a came without any oil. this allowed me to control the measurements even without the correct scales. sometimes my vids have me doing goofy shit without any explanation. this is one of those examples.

I have a similar car 07, Ac never worked I've noticed there no belt at all on 2 of the pullies.. I'm assuming the last person has taken it off because something in the ac system is broke.. Would the compressor make alot of noise if it had failed? Thanks

Yeah it can make a lot of noise if it's failing sometimes. It has bearings and other things that can make noise

Removing the port the way you did is too tight a squeeze for my hands. Thinking of going overhead with a universal joint socket. Think that’ll work? Waiting on rain to die down before I try it.

When you replace one part as in this case the compressor you only need to add oil for the new component and not the whole system as the other components still have the oil. Looked as though you were adding oil for the complete system but maybe I misunderstood?

Hi, Thank you for this video. I have subscribed also. I see you work in public places and under ground garages. I need to do this as well, as I only haver parking in a public parking lot, unfortunately it is open to the elements. But I feel so weird working on my car in public and not in a private garage. I know I shouldn't care, I'm just worried that cops might come past and arrest me for doing the maintenance in public. I like in the UK and finding off the road parking where I can do this comfortably out of site is expensive. Can you suggest anything?

My advice is to know what the laws technically are. And then understand how they are applied and what you are able to get away with. Call the local police department if you have any questions.

I'm going to try finding compressor mounting bolts torque specs Ford Focus SE 2016 2.0L duratech engine . Saw another video that it's 18 ft lbs ? Specifically the one passenger side nearest front / clutch

It is 18lbs but don't sweat it so much. If you're familiar with tightening down bolts in general you will be fine. You want it tight but not overly tight.

The tape on the plug is from factory has to be because I’ve stripped 3 of these cars out and replaced the ac compressor on my daily 07 focus and everyone of them was taped like this

Didn't Ford advertise "Ford, Has a Better Idea" at some point? Yeah Okay, THIS is a prime Example of Ford's BETTER Idea!! THE Better IDEA, is to jam things up so that Repairs take more time & cost more money. But then again, they have ALL gotten to be that way, some worse than others.

So annoying how Ford puts so much crap in the way after unmounting something. I recently had to replace my alternator and just to get it out I ended up having to loosen one of my motor mounts to shift the whole engine to finally have enough room. Now I understand why all my buddies hate Fords. What sucked more during fixing my alternator I noticed one of my cv axle boots was bad and I also need new motor mounts.
