I just got codes 2121 and 2123 on my 04 5.924 valve. I just did the battery disconnect and then APPS reset. Hopefully that solves my problem but if not this video will really help me out. This is my first diesel. The wife and I wanted a better tow truck for our fifth wheel.

Great help! Thank you. I had an aftermarket sensor without any information so I just followed what you did and kept slowly adjusting until code went away and idled correctly. Most other help sites just used .55 volts. Mine calibrated to .46 volts. Code went away and idles like a kitten.

Good video. Now I need your opinion. Iam getting a ABS and Brake light on my 1998 Dodge 2500, 24 valve Diesel. My first thought was a faulty speed sensor on universal. However when I run codes it gives me a P0122 and P1693 which indicates a faulty TPS. I also had a check engine light but that has since disappeared. My question is : why would ABS and brake light show if TPS is in fact bad? Are they related some how? Or are they both bad? No code indicating speed sensor however just ABS and brake light.

Man that was an excellent video for the TPS. I just acquired an 01 2500 and my buddy said he changed the TPS with a knockoff and then back to an OEM. I'm guessing he didn't adjust or calibrate it correctly. He claims it'll run and drive (i don't know, just got it yesterday and it wouldn't crank for dead batteries) but that it is sluggish in 5th and 6th gear and the turbo doesn't want to spool up. We'll see, I'm going to get some batteries and get to work on it soon. Any other advice you can give? Thank you for the clear concise explanation.

My truck doesn’t have a dead pedal and can drive but it’s idling at about 1200. I’ve tried researching to see if this is common with the AAPS but everything I’ve read says it has a high idle AND dead pedal? Just trying to make sure it’s the AAPS before I drop the cash and that’s not it…

Did all of this. Then when I went to adjusting the sensor with the set screw I could not get it to go below .7 volts

Just received the tps and am installing it. There is an enfaces to turn the tps clockwise after installing. IF there is no slack in the screw holes how much is it going to move? Seems like about 1 mm.
@Strict6diesel Жыл бұрын
Great explaining on calibrating the tps👍🏻 I don’t know if you’ve found your problem on the wait to start light issue but I’ve done 5 or 6 trucks now with that issue and it’s been something in the Ecm bad and I’ve got a local guy that I take them too and he charges about $400 to replace what’s wrong in the Ecm Every one of those trucks were 1999s and based off the color of your valve cover I’d say yours is probably a 99 or 98.5 so that might be your problem
@myfoundrylife Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message and yes I've solved the issue with the wait to start light. You are correct, it was the ECM. I posted a video on it.

Hey I have a 1999 24v that is idling at 1000-1200 after tapping the throttle. It only goes away once in gear I follows everything in the video but still doing it. Any suggestions.

Hey there! I have no throttle anymore. What should I do now? I tried turning it to the ON position with slowly pushing the throttle in than releasing it slowly turning the truck off than turning back on and no throttle, engine light is on as well.

Did you disconnect the batteries before installing the new APPS? The batteries also need to be disconnected for 30 minutes before calibrating the new sensor.

Great video and explanation on the install. I needed to get my truck running quickly and got the China part from Amazon next day. It has the slotted holes. Nothing stamped on the China tps so I followed the Throughbred Diesel video install by Wade. I set the tps at .55 VDC. So far so good, but I'm shopping around to buy an OEM rated spare tps. Timbo is out of stock. I like how you set the "Idle" with the set screw. That way you are assured the dead zone is minimized on the throttle/pedal. However in your video you say that the "stamped" voltage and deduct 2 10th's. Stating if stamper 0.50 set the tps at 0.48. I think you mean deduct 2 100's. (0.02) In any case I understand the set-up. Thank you!
@myfoundrylife Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!..and for the correction. Yes, I meant 0.02. Now if I could just find a throttle cable. Like the Timbo unit, throttle cables seem to be out of stock/backordered everywhere. I've ordered three, only to have the vendors cancel.

You make the same initial omission that others do! How do you get the cover off? If I can't get it off, I am stuck from the get-go!
@myfoundrylife Жыл бұрын
The cover at 6:50? Just remove the plastic push tabs. Mine are worn out so I just pulled them out by hand, but I believe you can use a small screwdriver or pick to work the center section out, then they should slide out. They're like a reusable plastic rivet.
@charlesharrison7705 Жыл бұрын
@@myfoundrylife Mine turns out to be a plastic push tab on top, but needs a tiny short Phillips screwdriver to get the one on the front near the bottom. I had no idea before how it was secured. Thx.

Are you using a fairly good quality meter and/or have a good connection (it can be difficult with the paper clip)? If you're sure you are in the idle zone it may be fine, but if it has idle issues there is a tech support email on the website. I sent in a question and he responded within a day or two.
