How To Replace Broken Seal on Dyson V15 Detect Vacuum Dust Bin

Күн бұрынI got my replacement seal on Amazon (non-OEM), you can use my affiliated link to purchase one yourself, most kit comes with the T8 Torx screwdriver required for installation: amzn.to/3M5C50N
In this video, I show you how to either replace or repair the Dyson V15 Detect's broken red seal on the dust bin. It should be a recall as the problem is widespread; Amazon has replacement dust seals, thankfully, if you can not get one from Dyson. I strongly suggest you get it replaced ASAP to avoid damaging your vacuum in the long run, using it without the dust bin red seal.

Definitely I agree you need "Brute force" I did mine, i thought im gonna lose my patience with this it has glue so that's why it's so hard to remove 🙄

Just had this issue and took it to a Dyson service center and they told me that the vacuum will perform perfectly WITHOUT those defective rings! Still on back order. Just toss and keep it moving!

It won't, the dust gets sucked into upper part that's why I had to buy a replacement. They are just giving excuses.

You CAN use it without this ring, just make sure to clean that upper part of the vacuum (which the red silicone is for) in the meantime while the order is delivered. Replacing it is best

If it works the same without the seal why did Dyson design and install the seal to begin with? Makes no sense.

Red Seal is helpful 1plastic retaining clip that marries to red seal is not needed.

Dang! The same seal broke on my V12! I stumbled upon this video so this looks like very common. I was just putting it back after cleaning it and it just broke.

In that case you might consider the aftermarket seal, because the original clip maybe broken on yours. This is so common when I went to Dyson repair center they told me this part is out of stock and will be for months.

I have the same issue, Dyson is sending me a replacement, one of the teeth got knocked out so cant just assemble it back either it comes out so, did superglue the ring and its seal together so it doesnt pop back out when removing the canister from the vacuum cleaner.

It is a design flaw, on mine 4/6 tabs broke when assembling it back after first cleaning the bin

Don't forget there is a screw holding the ring in place, you need to remove the screw first.

We have the same problem here and my boss want me to fix it even after I told them that it will work just fine without the rubber in it

In the long term, it will allow dirt to enter areas where they are not supposed to be at, so it will work without the seal but it's better to have it fixed either through factory or aftermarket parts.

They should have good warranty service when in warranty... Try reach out to Dyson.

Wouldn't buy another one. Handle hurts my hand. Going to use it without seal.

It will damage the motor as dust gets sucked directly into the motor without protection. I suggest wearing a utility leather glove when using it, just like using any other motorized garden tools, it will help reduce hand strain. Cheers
