It can sometimes smell bad when it's time to replace the filter

Some do not have a filter..you know how you can tell? When you go to buy it, there is no listing for one...

I am looking and mine don't that opening option did it work what you did how did you cut it You find the filter please let me know thank you

Ok I cut the squared lines where it's says to put a filter but there is not a filter there how do I get one It's has like a sponge on the back but I will look for a filter any ideas

I want to know before I take my car to the shop and pay money that doesn’t need. Because refrigerant isn’t going into my car is this the case ?

No..but if it didn't happen before you changed the filter then you knocked something off when you were in the area..go back in an look for a vacuum hose, electrical plug connector or a rod that was knocked off

@@alyoungcuda like my car was blowing cold air , then one time i cut my car off let it sit for the day got back in it and when I cut on the air I noticed it was room temp never got cold and it’s been that way for days and I tried putting in ac pro mind you it’s a whole new air system in my car and it wasn’t going into the pipe I guess.

@@COTHECOMEDIAN ac pro as in adding freon..remember too much freon is the same as not enough freon..the best way is to suck out the old and install the correct amount before you start guessing at other parts..is the ac electric fan working on high speed when you put on the ac?..with no fan operation it will not be cold..

@@alyoungcuda yeah I hear the fans but it’s hot air coming out I feel the air wants to be cold when I put my hands close to the vents but it’s hot air which is crazy because it was ice cold the day before.

@@alyoungcuda Alrighty thanks man, because I haven't had heat blowing but it could be that I don't have enough anti freeze.

@@doctorphilliam that filter has nothing to do with heat..check both heater hoses going into and out the firewall in the back in the engine compartment, they both should be hot as the radiator hose

@@alyoungcuda I'll have to check then, thank you for the info. My car sat in a garage for years so I knew that everything would probably not work.

Also where the windshield washer tubes are, a rodent bit on the tube so I gotta get a replacement.

The same reason your home air conditioner or heating system has a filter that you change every 6 months..it filters the dirt flying around in the car if its on recirculation and the dirty air that comes from the outside

2004 does not have one

Certain year models including your 2010 doesn't have one..did someone try to sell you a cabin air filter?

2010 here also. After removing the glove box door, behind it is the blower fan and a black box that reads., “Cut along dotted line to install filter”. I gave up at that point.

@@Biden_Cult_Morons thats weird, because even if you cut along that dotted line, there is no filter to purchase according to any parts book.

@@alyoungcuda .. Unfortunately their are sellers that claim my year Malibu, and other years do have a cabin filter when in fact they do not.

@@Biden_Cult_Morons I did the same thing and found the same message. I am going to give up at this point also.
