In this video we will explain how to remove and replace cv axle drive shaft on front wheel drive car. Most cv axle drive shaft start clicking and popping especially when you turn because they wear out, especially on higher mileage cars. In this video we will demonstrate how remove wore out cv axle drive shaft and replace it. There is a special tool that is not expensive and it helps you remove the drive shaft from the transmission side super easy so I will recommend it. Get a second person to help you with the cv axle drive shaft removal and replacement. We demonstrated how to remove the passenger and driver side cv axle shaft from the transmission so you know what to expect. Some cars may differ. Audi uses different kind of mechanism and approach.

I’m working on a 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe and the castle bolt holding the ball joint just keeps spinning. When I use a wrench to hold 1 side and socket the other side it won’t move at all. Also the control arm broke and I removed it but the ball joint is still in. Any tips or recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you for all the videos you guys make.

My cayenne had an accident and I have to replace the left front cv shaft but I see the shaft they the cv shaft bolts to had come out if the gearbox a little. Is there a way to get it back in, it seems to be not locating. Any help I will be very grateful.

Hello bro, just wanna know if there is any difference in pulling the cv axle from the transmission and the pulling it from the axle cup where you can remove the clips then the rubber boot and pull shaft out from there instead of removing with the cup, pls let me know cos that's how mechanics do it here.

Not necessarily - "drive shaft" describes a cv axle (running sideways from the wheels to the differential) as well as a prop shaft (running from front to rear, connecting the transmission with the rear differential on rear-wheel-drive cars).
