Almost a year latter we finally did it! It's working, it's wooorkiiing!!
Anyways, another how to while we gather all the missing parts to finaly drop the engine in...

Thank you for the inspiration to continue to pursue reinstalling the locking pin! I was ready to give up or even try putting it in the actuator first and then trying to clip it into the lock joint afterwards thinking this was the only way.....but after watching your video I was committed to follow your lead. Your is one of the only videos that has the same locking pin/actuator pin that I have on my 2014 435i. Bit thumbs up!!!!

Thanks for sharing this, really helped me swap my failed actuator. Just a note though you mentioned it would be possible to fit the locking pin into the actuator before fitting into the car, I tried that and found it impossible to then get it to click into the the lock as I couldn't apply the right sideways pressure once its in place. Had to do it the difficult fiddly way like you did it, although made harder as the lock actuator I swapped was on the right so had to use my left hand to guide it in

I had just replaced mine and testing works but the keyless entry no longer kicks but the outside handle works until i put the door panel back on super frustrating process

Can you please help, I have a 2015 435i, I am not able to fit the plastic pin inside, Even If I do it according to what you have shown, there is some gap on the ball joint which is not fitting. How to fit that ?

Unfortunately, I can't help you much because I still haven't found a better way. Did another one few months ago and fiddled with it for 15-20 min before getting it in..

Good morning, following a centralization problem on my front left bmw f20 door, I changed the electronic lock. centralization works again but manual opening/closing (with the key) no longer works. Do you know where it could come from? THANKS

99% that something went wrong with the plastic part that goes between the key barrel and the locking actuator. It's te hardest part to put back together, after doing this 4-5 times now I still haven't found an easy way to do it...

@@alx6584 don't know the name, but if you didn"t see it probably fell off when you were taking the actuator out, look for it inside the door
