Me and my coworker had the same issue with our headphones. I found your video and sent it to my coworker as well. We followed your instructions and it worked perfectly for both of us. Thank you. Great video and instructions.

Damn! I am very sorry to hear this. You can still try apple service, they replace them with new ones and the exchange may be cheaper than getting entirely new ones. This is country dependent.

Sad you have to do this with 350$ headphones. Quality should be top notch for that price!
@TechBlogPool
@TechBlogPool 5 жыл бұрын
Well yeah. That’s the sad story. For example bang and olufsen in their beoplay line uses aluminum and real leather that doesn’t deteriorate like this and the ear pads can be bought for a reasonable price from the manufacturer and replaced at home just by a simple twist! Apple have really made this a one use kind of product which dies after any part breaks. It’s sad.

Thank you so much for this DIY! I just finished replacing mine! It looks brand new! You saved me a ton of cash, this was my new beats studio 3 after my older beats studio pads had the same issue and when I called Apple + various tech shops they said they either don't replace it or I would need to pay an equivalent of a new beats just to replace them!! Thank you so much again!

This man's video is quite good among the best....I work with small parts is several ways under a microscope. Unless you are trained and follow his directions and keep everything beyond clean, DO NOT TRY this,,,,, If you love your Beats, play someone to do this for you,,,,, my money is on you will fuck it up or make it worse or break your beats ...the plastic on the beats really easy.... I worked for a company in Troy NY that made Micro Bearing for the Military under a microscope...I was an inspector....This is macro repair pretty easy to see ....it is NOT as easy as any video the 3M glue...doesn't work or as fast as all the video show ...I have a temper , I had to step away several times.... I took a shortcut, I wont share that. But as I write this I am listening to classic Rock , If you made Models as a kid , remember how sometime frustrating it was ...DO NOT touch the glue after taking off the red protection plastic.... practice 10 times with the red on. Careful taking off the old Pads ....this is NOT as easy as it looks.....total time for me old off new on satisfactorily was close to 5 hours.... the inner plastic of the old I will use to Mount new ear pads for my very old Beats solo ear cushions... ask me for advise I will try to guide you ...keep patient good luck Martin Nice video , how did that book method work out , no good to me
@TechBlogPool
@TechBlogPool Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! A lot depends on the batch of 3M tape they use. These pads used less good one. In the end I decided to use a little bit of glue and that worked wonderfully. It’s still on and I’m still happy. The replacement pads actually lasted a way bit longer than the originals. They still look as new. I got some leather replacement pads and have them ready when these fall apart! Hehe. Truth be told I’ve got new headphones since then but for the gym these are among the best weight and comfort wise.
@impkaps

@@TechBlogPool I liked your video, well made I had problems with the 3M adhesive, I cheated with Super glue very carefully, I didnt like how it looks near where the power cable connector looks , I wont say I can hang a V8 on it , but the ear pads are on and sound better than Day 1, My sister in Law's started to disintegrate 2 years , not daily use like me...I will replace them for her Birthday in August replacements were $10 how much were your leather ones ?

You have to think of it this way.., the pads are from pleather. Not real leather. So they have a limit on longevity. But depending on your use they will last another year to two years easily. And then? For another 10-15$ you can replace them again! I am on my second replacement pads and very happy about it!

HELP!!! How do you remove the cloth??????? I tried to use a knife to remove the entire cushion and ALL I got out was the pad, but the cloth is still stuck to it! I'm scared that if I remove it I'll break my headphones. I thought the cloth was connected to the cushion. None of the videos online are showing how to remove the cloth because they were both removed in one piece! Help!!!
@TechBlogPool
@TechBlogPool 6 жыл бұрын
Hi There. Let’s calm down a bit. No stress. If all you got was the upper part of the pad and the plastic with the cloth got left stuck.., you will simply have to put the knife in the correct place. What you did was cut the cushion off of it. But you have to literally detach two plastic parts from each other. One layer lower than you did. Take a look at the headphones and there should be a clearly visible gap between two tightly connected plastic parts. That is where you need to very carefully place the knife and bit by bit detach the two glued pieces from each other.

When i removed the original cups there was tons of glue on the head phones. Hardest part of the install was removing it. Took lots of time scrubbing with alcohol.

Hello there Scott. Yeah, it is possible that there are several revisions of the headphones and that different types of glue have been used.

I need help on my beats solo 3, when I remove the earcups the glue is stuck there and I tried removing it and it doesn’t work. So I ignored that and put new ear cups and now the ear cups (new) are getting off my beats ):

Hey there. I suggest the following: take them off and use superglue, then let it stick back. Take a bunch of books and place the earphones on them as if they were a head so that you put pressure on the cups against the glue for the night. Next day it should be ok. Don’t worry about the super glue. In 2 years you will be most likely replacing the earphones anyways due to bad battery. Worst case scenario the glue can be removed with a glue remover: amzn.to/39SsrrJ

Hi there! Yes! Most definitely. Also the Studio 2.0 Wireless are over ear. It is the Beats Solo that are on ear.

My ear pads on my solo pro are a bit small, can i change them to bigger ones? (Like the studio 3 has)
@TechBlogPool
@TechBlogPool 4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that would not work. I he base of the pad is also of different size because of the size of the driver. The SOLO are “on ear” whereas the Studio are “around the ear”.

Just needed to say this because I was confused. You were breathing like an overweight person but your hands and forearms look like you work out. So I was really curious so I looked into more of your channel. And bam! Wow your actually fit and hot lol. Btw you look great with a beard.

Thanks! That’s very sweet of you! Well.., the more muscle you have the harder it actually is to breathe. Went hiking into the Alps a little while ago and all those muscles simply need more oxygen. Also stress in front or behind the camera does not help. :-) Mine picks up breathing particularly well too! I’ve had mine for over four years. Mine are in white. The pads are heavily worn but still comfortable. I’m afraid the cheap replacement pads won’t be as high quality. Does anyone know any good ones?

Try the link in video description. I promise you won’t be able to tell the difference. Polyurethane leather is just polyurethane leather. The formula is the same. Apple also orders it from a 3rd party supplier.

NO you don't have to do this call apple and they will fix them for a measly $199 Plus Shipping LOL they had the nerve to actually tell me that on the support call. The really funny part is the Beats are brand New they were just never opened till way after purchase. used to 2 weeks and fell apart. Quality Apple Product.
