So much cringe when you put the screw driver in the old speaker

I replaced the whole original 6.5 (with the plastic adaptors also) by new Jbl 6,5 with dried silicon underneath, much better than wet silicon I think. thanks for the tutorial bro :)

Thanks man. That was the smoothest and easiest replacement. Ever. Toyota fo life!

The front speakers are components that come with both mid range driver (woofer), separate tweeter, and a crossover to split the frequencies. I chose Aura audio, which is now out of business, but they sound great.

I was looking on how to replace upper speaker on the door. Mines started to make noises when they being used for long time. It happened after I replaced the OEM radio to new video player unit
@Sunshone731111 жыл бұрын
Either one, but 6.5 if you use a speaker adapter. You can them on Crutchfield or eBay.

What good is a better mount if the speaker isn't fully secured?
@davidjohnperson12 жыл бұрын
How is the new speaker secured in, is it just held with the silicone around the edge? If you can find part 2 that would be great.

i guess toyota hates it when people put aftermarket speakers in their cars
@chefchutardo52153 ай бұрын
i was hoping to do this on mine soon. Is the window interfering with the speaker magnet when its rolled down ? I was hoping to put some 6.5" speakers that need a lot of space in the back for a very big and thick magnet.

Dude please make a video on how to do the rear speakers...i just bought rear 6x9's for my 2011 LE and wanted to do the install myself but i dont want to rip apart my back paneling and mess it up. If you know how can you please make a video doing them!?

I know you have reasons, but did you remove the front speakers to add some lows to the front? Because I have the exact same car, and all I do is make sure the front speakers do not receive freqs below 80khz, And I seem to be more than happy with the sound quality in the car. I have mids under both the front passenger and driver seats. Just to cover it a bit. But in my personal opinion, the front speakers do not need touching, their quality is far beyond what toyota used to have.

Helpful clip. Is the front panel of Matrix the same removal process of corolla? Thanks.

+Chuyen Do yes! Ive never removed a speaker in my 2010 matrix base model but i did have to change an interior door handle and it was exactly the same

This is actually pretty half-assed in my opinion. Wouldn't silicone melt under high heat? What would happen in the event water sits on it for a long time? Oh, and what if you want to put a different speaker in? Now you have a mess to clean up. Also more work to revert if you want to resell the car as stock.
@Sunshone73116 жыл бұрын
It's been years and no issues and I live in the desert. Good silicone doesn't melt and isn't hard to clean to clean up.
@bobbyclemente216 жыл бұрын
Why would you want to put back crappy stock speakers knowing how much work it is to get to those? LOOOOL, cheapskate!
@Sunshone731112 жыл бұрын
Still no luck finding it. I used 1 hour silicone, the stuff you use in the bathroom with a caulking gun and that's all. I used a screw to hold the speaker in place. The silcome allows the speaker to float in the mount and results in no rattles and i believe a better sound. The smell from the drying silicone goes away after a few days, just keep your windows cracked.

My new speakers won’t play unless I plug the old tweeter back in as well. How do I fix?
@technov98385 жыл бұрын
Not the best way to replace speakers, remove the old one, put in an adaptor to fit 5 1/2 speakers on a 6 1/2 hole, no need to have silicone, but its a very good option if there is rattle After testing it, then close it up..

do you have to buy a separate wire harness or does it come with one in the box that will fit a 2010 corolla
@Sunshone731110 жыл бұрын
If you want a direct connect harness, you will have to buy it separately. You can find them on eBay.

You can bust out the old ones like you see in the video or you use the adapters. There is no way to install without doing one or the other.

I ha e amplified the front speakers and the power is too great for the factory units. So long story short, higher power more accurate front channels werey preference.
