Question- is an alignment needed after this job? My guess is yes, but suspension components are something I'm only just starting to understand, so I'm really not sure. Currently replacing my front struts and rear shocks and wondering if I may want or need to do some other stuff down there as well. Going on 200,000 miles in the 08 EX.

Yes, I advise getting an alignment after servicing the lower ball joint. Goodluck on the suspension refurb! Other common parts to inspect: inner and outer tie rods, wheel bearings, and control arms.

Did you actually torque it to spec or did you tighten it until the cotter pin was able to fit through? Not sure how you put a torque wrench in there with limited space.

I did not use a torque wrench. I just make sure the ball joint fully seats into the knuckle. Most of the time I’ll have to tighten it a little more to get the cotter pin through. If you unbolt the strut, tie rod end, cv axle nut, and abs speed sensor, you will have access to use an orthodox torque wrench. I recommend doing this to get a feel for how tight the castle but needs to be.

Would not recommend doing this with just jack stands. Not enough leverage to remove and put on the the new ball joint like you have on a lift. Maybe there was something I could’ve done to make it easier, we eventually got it. But just one took us over an hour

OK if you can't get a torque wrench on the castle nut how do you torque it??????????? Other than that, great video for all those new mechanics out there....

32 ft lbs is basically the firm side of snug. It's probably not critical to have this torqued right to spec.

I had the same question. Figured out there's a thing called crow's feet wrench.

Hey brother I have a 2021 honda accord and I am having clunking over bumps I changed out the struts but not the issue I am having a vibration in the wheel now as well like a tire sound . I looked at the links and sway bar bushings and they look OK what do you think .

Hey man, the front suspension has so many bushings, i'd inspect each of them individually... have you checked the shock absorber's bushing (which sits between the shock absorbers and the chassis)? These ones tend to be very problematic. PS: sorry for my bad English
