Hey all
I apologise this has taken so long to edit but its finally here.
This is my guide on how to replace the front wishbones on the Land Rover Freelander 1. It's definitely a worth while job and completely transforms the drive of the Freelander, especially with doing the powerflex mounts.

You have a new subscriber bro. I have a Freelander TD4 2004 with 145000 km, mapped with i think 130 140 hp. Im gonna follow your project to have an idea on my Freelander cauz its an hardtop 5 doors. In Italy its pretty hard to get some parts of this car. I dont know how but i would like to share some pictures with you so you can give me some advices. Very nice channel congrats

I see you didn't replace the front inner bush. My FL1 recently failed the MOT as that bush had disintegrated, I had replaced the whole wishbone a few years back, so the quality probably wasnt great. So Ive kept the old wishbone with the intention of getting a polybush inserted ready for when I have replace again!

Hey, yh didn't bother on this one. The time spent getting the old one out would have been far too long for the time I had and so only replaced the bigger bush as this is the one that it would benefit mostly from. The front one could be done and it would save it from breaking down, just need to make sure you have a spare hour to get them out 😅

Good try but two big omissions that I didn’t see you mention, maybe I missed it somehow let me know. First, some of those bolts need serious torque on tightening like 140lbft, didn’t see that done. And second it it very important to check the wheel alignment tracking after suspension changes. Mine needed a small adjustment after doing the wishbones. Hey bud, yh I had it all up to spec on torque for the fitment. I did the video a while ago now so can't remember everything I said I must admit but yh I went and got tracking done straight after the video was done by a local garage to myself. I've always said to get tracking done after any suspension changes as it's a pretty vital point. I also get a nut and bolt check done for torque as this is often done for free, so it's worth it after doing the work and all we're torqued to the correct setting which was good. Thanks for the comment though as ita always good to make sure we're all safe out there 😁👍

@@TrackCraftPerformance That’s good then. Another thing that came to mind thinking about this job, and having just done it recently myself (reusing the rear bush & housing, see kzfaq.info/get/bejne/apiikpV_nLm5mYU.html ) is that it may not be a good idea to use poly bushes on that rear bush since it has to twist to allow suspension movement up/down. The centre core is fixed by the highly torqued bolt and the outer bit is attached to the alloy mount. Any extra stiffness of the bush would resist up/down movement over bumps etc. I guess maybe the poly bushes could rotate against the metal, but then that creates wear and eventually play. Just food for thought. Nice to see someone else keeping Freelanders on the road by the way. Keep it up!

Glad you liked the video 😁👍 I've not noticed any vibration to be fair, car feels a bit more controlled and handles well with little play so I put that down to new parts and replacing most bushes with poly 👍

Did mine bones. Very easy I thought aswell. Tell me have you done rear shock absorber, s on your freelander if so did you have to use a spring compression please.thanks mate

Hey bud, yh I was quite surprised how easy it was when it got going. I was definitely glad I chose to do the whole lot, made it a lot easier. I haven't done shocks yet but it is planned for this year so hopefully won't be long 😁👍
