You can get a new big rubber O ring to go under the screw down ring at a parts store by matching size with old one. Also, clean ring and heavily spray or place from a tube silicon lubricant on the threads to allow easy removal if needed another time in the future. A 6-8" wood dowel the size of a broom handle and hammer are good to loosen and tighten the big ring. Also a rubber belt wrench is good to remove a difficult to turn ring. A pro mechanic said its possible to just loosen the tank straps on one side to allow tank to hang down, (you have siphoned gas from tank before getting started) and you can remove pump without actually completely lowering tank. But sometimes the big ring is very hard to turn so the tank may have to come all the way down to get better grip and more leverage to turn the ring using a strap wrench. Spraying the liquid wrench trying to get it up into thread can help on a badly stuck ring.

Did you try a small siphon hose 3/8" plastic tube?

Undue the gas tank straps on the pump side and just loosen the straps on the other side you shouldn't need to drop the tank

Using a electric socket wrench near a puddle of gas is not recommended. Nice video.

Only have to lower the tank 1.5 inches to3 inches,you do not have to totally drop the tank on third gen dodge minivan

Wish you would have shown the seal ring. Also there is a special fuel ring wrench.. my ring broke taking it off that way.

So I have a question I thought I had a line leak and turns out it was gas coming out the fuel pump. I want to make sure before I take it apart can the fuel pump leak or can it be a line just above it. Its hard to see in. I did put my finger on the top and gas did run across my finger, but i have never seen a fuel pump leak.

It's probably a fuel pump. Almost certainly. But you're going to have to drop the tank to find out either way. So just drop the tank and get to it.
