In this video you can watch my demo on how to properly change the Mercedes Smart Key battery tutorial. It's actually very easy and you can do it yourself - DIY! There is no need to go to a dealership for that. Good for Mercedes Smart Keys from 2009 till present..

I have a 2002 SLK 320 convertible MB Questions: I see a I think wrench 🔧 with a forward slash/ and 0730 No clue Wiper redo iOS doesn’t come out? The owner replaced cigarette lighter and it still doesn’t work? Once I change the key fob battery does the car have to be reprogrammed??? Also I came out the next morning and the fog lights were on and the light switch was on off the car started but after thirty minutes it wouldn’t I could still turn on the inside light above the mirror??? I’m gonna jump start my battery and take it to be tested. I don’t understand why the light came on I mostly drive it during the day and about 2 times a week I have another car. It’s a used vehicle with 84,000 miles Could you help please? Also do I have to have car reprogrammed if battery is changed out? How many batteries does this car have?

No, you don't need t reprogram when changing the keyfob battery or vehicle battery. That car should have one main battery and one AUXillary.

@@marcusrawlins-martin2916 The only place I would recommend is through MB dealership, where you have to prove the ownership. The wrong key can create lots of problems. SmartKey is too important as I've shown in this video: bit.ly/MBZMbat

Hello, is there any way to get an extra smart key fob without going thru the dealer? I’ve seen some on Amazon but can they be programmed without the dealer? I have a 2018 C 300.

If it was that simple, anyone could've make a copy of your key and easily steal your car. Plus, even if you figure how to copy the smart key - the inside metal blade (valet emergency key) wouldn't work either. I would recommend to order through the dealership, where you also have to prove your ownership.

Ok, appreciate you for your knowledge and for sharing. I just bought the C300 and didn’t come with a spare key so like you suggested I will go about it the RIGHT way! Thanks again. Oh, one more thing...how do I run the radio with out the key on? Like if I’m washing the car, how do I listen to tunes? Thanks in advanced.

Just press the middle ON button right on the radio, while the car isn't turned on. Depending on the model, sometimes you have separate button, or some models you need to press down the volume scrolling button in the middle console. Then remember to turn it off. Radio should shut down if the battery start to go down.

HI .I have problem .after i change batery ,my smart key doesnt work properly, a commend pops out and says ,key not detected,also cant start car from start button..Thanks

The battery you replaced is probably defective or weak. Try to change for a new battery. Also make sure the battery's plus faces upwards.
