I grew up with primarily nothing but Grasshoppers. My dad ran 2 and a Woods front mount for years when we still had our Lawncare business. It’s one of the only mowers I prefer anymore, and definitely are built to last! Only other mower we had that I loved, was the Cub Cadet Tank mid-mount. It was super smooth, dual fuel tanks, and the deck just floated.

That front mount is a pretty nice setup. The cooler feature is great too. Feels like a new mower after you clean it up and do some work to it doesnt it? Your son stole the show on this one. Cute kid

Ha yea, he's definitely better on camera than I am. He drove it last week by himself (at idle) Before long I won't have to mow anymore! He had a cooler full of Capri Sun's out front.

Perfect timing! Had my right (discharge) spindle lock up last week so I’ll be tackling this soon on my 2004 725K2 with the 61”. Still trying to decide whether to rebuild whatever spindles are on it or just order these replacements. Thanks for taking the time to create the video!

Glad it was helpful! I would say just check the other two for wobble and go from there. If they are old, may be worth doing it while you have everything out.

Use good quality anti-seize on the spindles where the drive pulleys go on so they don't seize on the shaft for the next time you have to service them.

I have a front mount at my in-laws house that I will be bringing home at some point.(John Deere) I’m sure I will need to do the same thing to it! Thanks for the info.

You bet! The repair is really easy on a front mount...but for having to destroy a sheave in the process!

One of these days I need to get out and reassemble my homemade skid steer mower. It's a lot like that grasshopper except it is an attachment.

You probably already found out, but that part that you thought was just for holding up the shaft of the spindle is actually part of the spindle as a bearing shield.

strong suggestion...get air dam for the front under edge of deck.....really cuts down on dust outs....

You don't have to replace a fender spindles on the grasshoppers you can just go to your local hardware store in rebuy the bearings and they would only cost you about 20 to 30 bucks I've done it to all three of mine grasshoppers that I've owned by

have 2004 725 G2...kubota gas 3 cyl. 61" front deck. how did you cross GH spindles to after market spindles ? i am sure i will have to replace mine at some point ?

I found the GH part numbers and then just searched them on Amazon. Wasn't too hard.
