Dude, I am a saleslady who has no handymam abilities. I just hired someone to put in a new gas cylinder in my office chair. He did that and left. My chair was wobbly but I just sat on it...then I noticed Handyman forgot to put back in one of my casters! So I searched on youtube, found your video. I thought no way I will be able to do this. But with a small hammer I had on hand, I got the caster to pop back in! I was nervous like it would break but it went right in. I am so relieved. thanks so much!

I have arthritis in my hands and had been trying to put casters on my new office chair for a good while when I found your video. I don't have any WD-40, but I used a tiny spray of cooking oil and my casters snapped in like magic! Thank you for a workable solution! :)

Thanks very much. I would not have known that one can just pull them out. And the broken chair that I took from the dump at work has the same diameter and height of wheels so I replaced my home computer's chair wheel presto, and saved on the price of a new chair. Even second hand they are about 30 USD. Writing this comment took longer than the replacement. Thanks again.

Fantastic video...and, very well done!😃 A few weeks ago, my daughter informed me that the wheels COULD be changed..... Transpire to this evening ...I found your video...and REALIZED, I could try to pull off the wheels off the now "throw away" office chair ( wheels are in MUCH better shape) and put these on the favorite office chair with so much comfort... you can actually sleep in this chair. WALA!...IT WORKED!!!😃😃😃 Now, once these wear out...my plan is to order some from your company. Thank you.. thank you...thank you...my office chair has been REVIVED!!!!😃😃😃😃

I have 3 office chairs. Their spew dust and ruin my fake wood laminate floor. So a few months ago I got 5 Chrome Lux 3” wheels and my handyman installed them for me using a pry bar. I love these new wheels so much that I ordered 10 more and bought a pry bar at Harbor Freight so I could do it myself. I am an old lady but I am studying this video and will try to do one chair tomorrow. The handyman made it look so easy and quick. Wish I had paid better attention. But these wheels are great!

Thank you. I bought replacement castors for my office chair that I was about to toss because of a broken wheel. However, I could not get the new ones on and was about to toss the chair again. This video saved me from tossing the chair.

Thanks so much for showing us how to put the castor wheels on the office chair! I couldn't get the castors to go into their slots no matter how I twisted, turned and wiggled them! When I used a hammer they went in and I was able to assemble the rest of my office chair successfuly! Wishing you a great day! :)

for whomever it may concern, if the removal is hard for a caster wheel, try using the head of a hammer for leverage to pull it out and loosen it

thanks, i had no idea they were so easily removable. i had wheels break on my chair and the stem started digging into my floor. had i known they were so easily removable i would have removed the whole thing to protect the floors. :/

I recently had to non-destructively remove some oversized casters from my office chair due to a broken base. Since I was going to reuse the casters and they were injection-molded plastic, I didn't want to damage them, so the screwdriver approach was out. What I wound up using was a large-ish pair of diagonal cutters. I simply opened them as wide as they'd go, then placed the cutter jaws over the stem behind the extruded metal ring. Also, diagonal cutters have a 'flat' face; and that face was toward the top of the stem on the caster to create a tappable surface. I'd rock them a couple of times to get the casters started, then used a hammer to tap them out. This is a bit more secure method than using a screwdriver.

Thank you for this video. I was having trouble getting my casters off, but it looks like with most of them I was just pulling from the wrong angle. Setting the chair on the ground like you show got me to the right angle and they popped right out. Only had to use the screwdriver on 2 of them to get them started, then was able to pull them by hand.

It will not come off wish they came off easy like this. Edit: All I did was spray some cooking spray in the crevice, spun each one around a few times to make sure the oil is in there good. It took a hard pull and for me to push the chair on a wall while laying on its side but job done thanks. I have a severe hip and groin condition that may it harder so someone healthy should be able to find just use risistance.

I do have to buy new Wheels because turns out the ones I bought are too small but with that being said thank you for making this video I thought I was just going to have to deal with two out of five of the wheels on my chair just being broken forever
