I replaced the brake light in my 2014 Odyssey. The assembly came out easy. However I didn’t need to unplug the cables. Just twist the tail light plug and the bulb came out. Pop a Sylvania 7443 bulb in, twist it locked and replaced the assembly.

Very nice and informative video thanks! It was very helpful!!!! One key information is how to unplug the wire connectors from their sockets. There is a tab that needs to be pressed hard while pulling them upwards -- this releases the locking system in the tab.If you just try to pull it out, the wires will break (and yes, do not hold the wires and try to yank them out).

Thanks for the tutorial. I learned it's not your regular 1034 or 1157 light bulb and now I'll know what to get at the auto parts store this morning. Now my interior map light, left one, where the sunroof control is is not working I need a video on how to replace those bulbs. Subbed

When I turn on the headlights all the bulbs are working. When the headlights are off and I press the brake, the lights are not working on the driver side. I am not clear which ones need to be replaced, since with just the headlights the same bulbs (at least it seems to me that way) seem to be turning on.

Can I use a Philip screw driver to remove the brake lights ? The brake lights would be the bottom white part right ? Cause when I turn the lights on the red lights are on. I guess I should just change the bottom clear white light since the red upper lights turn on. Or do I go ahead and might as well change both

Thank you. Didn't know how to remove screws. You spent sooooo much time in the screws that I couldn't mess up using a screwdriver....you didn't show how you detached the three lightbulb attachments so I just cut the wires with wire cutters. :P

The only part of explanation missing is the three wires you disconnected. You didn’t say how they reconnected and which one goes in which!

You know that part at the start where you remove the screws and then move it up and down to take it out? Ya mine won’t come out. After like 20 min of working it every way, will not come out. Wtf?

Figured it out from another video. Use a non marring pry tool and pry the light out from the back side between light and body of van.

@@alexrojas1012 you need to shove a pry tool behind the light between light and body of van and push it out. There is a clip on the back center of light that's holding it in.

No its not. New aftermarket replacement is only 75 bucks for odyssey

The way you pulled the light assembly out Is BS. They do not come out that easily. You loosened it before the video was made. Let's be honest; its a pain in he ass to get the light assembly out. And I also like the fact that when you are pulling the lights out, you completely hide the process with the light assembly.

@@melniksmotors what is the technique? It definitely feels like something is screwed or clipped in that’s preventing the whole thing from coming loose after those two screws are removed. Suggestion?
