This is the first how to video I’ve done on KZfaq. Let me know what you think and if there’s anything I’ve missed. All feedback welcome and thanks for watching.

Thanks JAD for posting this, my mum's NP Pajero is experiencing the same chirping under light braking. Her mechanic in Kepera said it might be the clock spring but I noticed it only occurred under braking which doesn't appear to be affected in any way. Thanks again! I like the shades!

@@El-sm9gr Thats awesome. Hope my video helps. I researched a bunch of places online before doing this to make sure I wasn't throwing away my money and no regrets. Even checked with Mitsubishi for any potential recalls to no avail! The chirping has gone and hasn't come back.

hi. you could have let us hear the chirping noise. how can i tell if my hbb needs replacing?
@JADDownunder3 ай бұрын
@mmm-xh6ll your right I didn't capture it very well. I put the chirp noise right back at the very beginning of the video. On hindsight I should have made it longer and louder and at the end done a before and after. The feedback helps me create better videos in future. Thanks 😊

Have the same exact issue and the mechanic told me that I need to change the whole break system not only the acomulator which is extremely expensive. Seeking your advice if you faced any issues when replaced the accumulator only or it's working fine, please??

It's worked fine ever since. 😊

I watched your video a few times and just replaced my accumulator. It was super easy. I wish I had replaced it sooner. I did spring for a new torque wrench, though. 😂

Awesome Joel! Don’t worry, I put up with mine way to long and after scouring forums and KZfaq not finding much info decided to make the video as well. Really glad I made the video and it’s helped. Thanks for sharing/commenting 😎👍

Just replaced mine following these steps and it worked perfectly! Interested to know how you disposed of the old accumulator, did you drill a hole to remove the nitrogen pressure?

Thanks for the video, you could use long bar , or apiece of pipe to untight or during tightening, you wouldn't require much force, it would much easier to work with the watch removed from your hand, prefable to use gloves when working with break fluid.

Good day, very informative video; My car is a 2004, Pajero 3.0v6 with 6g72 Engine. Please advice could worn out brake pads cause the buzzing issue when brake pedal is pressed? Because mine when I press the brake pedal 3 times with the engine off and ignition on I get the small buzz sound and an abs dash light! This is the exact sound it started doing a few days back, sometimes when u apply brakes to put on reverse it will make a continuous beeping sound then goes off after barely 5 seconds!

I wouldn't know about this. Try the Mitsubishi Pajero forums. They are really good at helping to diagnose. Thats what I originally done myself when diagnosing this problem. Good luck.

Please can you advise on who supplied you the Accumulator I have the same problem on my Pajero Shogun 2006 Diesel 3.2Ltr and I am looking for suppliers of the ABS AISIN components either the accumulator, Motor or the complete Unit

Great vid. The instructions say to eed the front end of the braking system, though. No issues without bleeding ? Mine is leaking brake fluid so I might just try torquing it, or replace the O ring if necessary.
@JADDownunder4 ай бұрын
I never bled mine but that's not a huge job either as long as the bleed nipples are in good condition. Would definitely look at replacing o ring though

Pumping the brakes the 40-50 times is considered bleeding the system. Crucial to have key off

Hey mate. We just changed the accumulator in our pajero, didn't work.. changed the pump too.. still can't bleed the brakes. Nothing going thru to the rear brakes. Help!!

I have the 3.2 diesel motor, and mine doesn't have the nut on top. How would I go getting it off? This chirping noise is annoying. Mine is silver in colour not black like yours? Thanks

I haven’t done one of these but doing a quick check on trusted forum I see one bloke used oil filter removal tool. Give that a try 👍 www.pajeroforum.com.au/forum/vehicles/generation-3-pajero/1086990-five-minute-brake-accumulator-change

What chirping noise are you referring to? Do you have a recording of the noise? It would be beneficial to "hear" what the faulty accumulator sounded like as you referred to it. Many thanks.

At the start of video. Was my first recoded KZfaq video in many years and looking back I didn’t capture it well. Try the start of the video again with volume up a bit. It was super annoying as it chirped all the time. Often much higher pitch that captured in video.

Hi there, is it safe to change just this part if the system? given is an electric one, wouldn't affect the safety of the car?
@JADDownunder10 ай бұрын
The part I changed isn’t electric but filled with gas and hasn’t given any problems since changing it out. For your own safety always do your own research and seek professional advice 😉

How about bleeding? Does accumulator have air upon installing?
@JADDownunder9 ай бұрын
I didn’t need to bleed as when i lifted off and reinstalled it didn’t get any air in between the new accumulator and connection point. If you think you should bleed the brakes go for it. Thanks for watching!

Hi, my accumulator doesn't make the chirping noise,but the pump keeps on running every few seconds.The brakes work just fine though they feel a bit spongy.It's a 2002 Pajero ,petrol.What could be the problem?
@JADDownunder11 ай бұрын
Without physically being able to inspect I would suspect a weak pump. Try some Pajero forums or to be sure discuss with a good mechanic! Good luck!

What does an accumulator due
@JADDownunder Жыл бұрын
A brake accumulator is a component in a vehicle's braking system that stores hydraulic pressure. It helps provide quick and responsive braking performance by storing pressurized brake fluid. When you apply the brakes, the accumulator releases the stored pressure, allowing for immediate brake actuation. It improves braking responsiveness and can support the brake system during power loss or when the engine is off.

Mine doing the same,, the mechanic check it and he say it is not fail,,, it is dangerous to start not have brakes?
@JADDownunder Жыл бұрын
It would be dangerous to start (or more likely drive) without brakes. Since changing my accumulator it’s stopped the chirping and brakes feel good and stop the Pajero as expected.
@olamabambi4193 Жыл бұрын
How much did it cost. Do you still have the old accumulator?
@JADDownunder Жыл бұрын
Hi Olama Bambi. So the accumulator in the video cost $330 Australian dollars. I purchased from reputable Ebayer and it’s OEM. After I looked at what it took to refurbish, and searching for others who could refurbish I ended up disposing it. Wasn’t worth the extra effort to refurbish. The new one is still working 100% perfect. 👍

What's the purpose of function of the accumulator
@JADDownunder Жыл бұрын
Hi Angus. It provides reserve oil for power-off controlled braking. So I’d the power or engine fails you’ve still got come brakes. The Pajero ones become weak, can’t hold pressure and start to chirp which gets super annoying. Cheers 👍

So you didn’t need to bleed the braking system? I need to change in my 2002 Pajero (qld Australia) do you stick to genuin parts or can you get them from repco?

Sorry for late reply Ref Corvette Guy. I purchased mine online and was genuine part. Still works like a dream 👍
