Just want to say THANK YOU! With your guidance I replaced the charging port. The repair place was going to charge $55 for labor and $80 for the part! I bought the part on Amazon for $9.99 and it took only like 10 minutes to fix the port! TWO THUMBS UP!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Have had my tablet 4 years now and it would no longer charge. I used the links provided to buy the replacement part and tools from Amazon. Once they arrived I watched your video and managed to replace the charger port in minutes.

I just want to thank you so very much for helping me to replace charging port in my Tab S. Didn't think I could do it and that I'd have to get a new tablet. Hated the idea of that big time!!! But with your wonderful video, I was able to do it. I am so beyond happy! You're wonderful!!

Thanks for the help. My device seemed to be quite a bit tighter, wasn't even close as easy as for you in 1:05 -> but got it open. Also in 2:50 -> had to you more force than expected. When someone is doing this, I recommend cleaning all the small 'aligning knobs' in the backplate before closing it, at least on mine they had got some deformation during opening and wouldn't have propably fit perfectly if let so. Now if I could just find out how to fix it from draining the battery in a few days even when completely off, has done that from day 1 :-/

I also just followed the procedure. One has to be precise when it comes to connect back to the charging module since I had initially not done it properly. Thank you fore putting this video together.

My tablet quit working. Would not charge. Did not know if it was the battery or the charging port. Verizon wanted to sell me another tablet and a 2 year contract so thats about $500. Took it to Geek Squad and they said thewy would have to be sent out and looking at least $150.00. Watched some KZfaq videos and ordered new battery and charging port from Amazon. First i replaced the battery and the screen came on BUT would not charge so I replaced the charging port. Works great and I have a new battery. I did break my screen protector as I thought best to leave on but a new one and total cost about $35. Doing a happy dance! Thanks for the video.

Had quotes to replace the charging port of galaxy tab s 8.4inch @ AUD $ 60-AUD $130. Bought a port on Ebay for $5..... 10 minutes to replace These repair guys make a hell of a living

All the videos I've seen on this replacement are missing an important step regarding the SD card. If you have a SD card installed, before you being the replacement, go to Settings, General, Storage, tap on the SD card and tap Unmount (no need to Format). Then close Settings and shut down the tablet. Remove the SD card and replace the charge port as per the video. Then reinsert your SD card and power up and it should recognize the card again. If you don't unmount first, you may have trouble getting the device to recognize the SD card after the installation.

Have you thought about removing the Bling around your wrists before you start touching 'live' components on the back of the tablet ???

Pro tip -those are heat welded tabs you broke when you took the back cover off, not just clips as well. far better to remove the back cover with the plastic housing bezel from the front. you leave the bezel attached to the back cover that way you don't break the heat welded tabs off.

Be VERY careful at 2:38 when removing the ribbon cable from the clip. I broke the clip and now my tablet requires a new mother board! Unless someone knows different?

Thanks for sharing. So I installed my new charger port as per the video (pretty straightforward really) and ..... nothing :-( , still not charging. My tab was fine one minute and not charging the next so I assumed it would be the port. As the battery seemed fine until it stopped charging I didn't think the battery would be the issue. I've also bought a new usb cable just in case that was the issue but didn't help either. Any suggestions or should I just bite the bullet and replace the battery too? Thanks in advance.

I replaced the port, which was damaged, but now the device still will not charge. If it is off, the charging symbol comes on for about 7 seconds then goes off. If the device is on when plugged in (still some battery life left from before the damaged port), it doesn't indicate charging at all. What is next to try? New battery?
