Great video. Thank you I would have loved to see the small top insert reupolstered also.

I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for taking the time to show how its done. I did cringe a little when you put a new sock on the speaker without first removing the dirt and dust from it.

A great demo showing the replacement, but I am flummoxed as to why the top horribly stained screen was not replaced. WTH?

One of the best speaker manufactors in the world, and they only have 328 subscribers! The world is a joke and has very poor taste. This channel should have 1 mil subs.

Is it possible to re-use a grill sock that has been removed?

Definitive Technology does it better with drawstrings. No staples, No glue.

Does this same method work for the SUBS? I have a V2W that I was thinking about recovering

Do you have a link to where I can purchase a pair of replacement socks for Model 1b?

Just replaced some on some bose, ignore everyone who says e7000 for adhesive 😂 that ten mins until hard is more like two hours minimum. Nightmare. Superglue woulda been the way.

so many used pairs are being sold these days . makes me wonder if they are worth $500 for a pair of the 2C
@violao2062 жыл бұрын
They are well worth that price. I bought my Series I for $450 used 15 years ago and have never regretted the purchase. A pal has a pair of Series IICE that he is super pleased with. They are an amazing value at that price. One benefit of Series I is that they are easier to place in a listening environ.

Wear can I order the replacement cloth? And what about replacing the top cloths?
@AMCorner7 жыл бұрын
I am pretty sure you can order it from Vandersteen--give them a call. Some have also sewn together speaker cloth in a "tube" and slipped it on. I don't know how to replace the cloth on top, however--I may want to do that myself since I want to refinish the wood end caps on mine.

Groucho Barx I called vandersteens in call. They ship the 2 cloth anywhere for a decent price. Go to 11:32 in vid,see how the top cloth fits with some kind of frame inside the hole? I haven't replaced mine yet, but I'm about to, have you taken on the task yet?

What about that nasty stain on the top cloth???

Why won't you send out speakers for KZfaq reviews? there are no audio stores left. send the 1Ci's to Andrew Robinson, Z reviews ETC. i heard the 1C years ago they were so magical sounding i am considering buying them site unseen. Get speakers in reviewers hands. Not just the $15000 ones that No one can afford
@davecook83785 жыл бұрын
Ugh, that noise when he's prying the wood up... But what other speaker company would spend so much time showing you how to refurbish ancient speakers from near the bottom of their line.

Respect for that. Built to last needs to make a comeback. This plastic economy is crap.

Instructive; but really? All this from what is now a 5k pair speaker?

Jesus Christ man you don't hammer on a screwdriver, and it's not a damned pry bar. Ridiculously unprofessional.

If it works why not

Same shape, same material, suitable size 🤷 whats the problem. A good workman can make his own tools for the situation at hand.

And not like a screwdriver is an expensive sensitive device.
