For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzfaq.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

I know lots about the edge trimmers and weed eaters and lawnmowers and i got very very good with my knowledge about these powerful machines and i follow the general rules of thumb for the trimmer line diameter depending on the engine cc and wattage rating and the size of the motor and ja i hope to bring some back for if i start my lawn business job and I can then test them out randsnyers en grassnyers is lekker om te gebryk en ek ken baie van hulle

At the back of the spindle are two holes 180 degrees opposite each other. These are retainer holes to prevent the gut from unrolling. Clip each end of the cut into these holes, feed it through the spinner head and give it a slight jerk to release the gut from the holes and complete the job.

If you click to lose ends into the little slots it won’t come undone then pull hard to get them back inline

you doing it the hard way... at the bottom of the winder there are 2 small gaps where you put the string... it holds it in place so it doesnt slip

Thanks for the video. I have been looking for this for a while and there are many different models but this is the same coil as the one I have. Even the website for the trimmer I have (Spear and Jackson) doesn't show you how to do this! I guess they want everyone to just but new reels already to use?

Unfortunately whilst your video is informative to a point you are completely incorrect as you miss several most important fundamentals: 1. trimmer line is colour coded and that should be pointed out eg: orange coloured trimmer line for 1,8 mm or 2.0 mm for 1000 Watt Lawn Star weedeater (yellow for 1,2mm etc) 2. For that 1000 watt model you can load 8 meters but no more, loading 1 meter as you state is a great waste of time 3. and most importantly you should clip in the lines into slots temporally on the bottom flange, load the spool and then pull the two protruding lines to release them rather than fiddling around extensively as you show. Or watch the inferior quality Lawn Star that has no sound or commentary: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eJ6biapnnrvViKc.html

I'm winding in direction of arrows and it never taps out properly. I always have to pull out manually. Designer needs to be sued for torment.
