Great video, makes it much easier to replace than I could have ever imagined. I know the old adhesive was removed but I didn't hear any mention of having removed the residue from the old adhesive. Before I apply my new pads, I will definitely clean the area with Isopropyl alcohol applied to a cotton swap or cotton pad being very careful to not disturb the speaker area of course.

You can spill alcohol on your entire headphones and they will be fine once it dries. Unlike water you clean electronics with isopropyl alcohol.

Good job !! Thanks for the tip on weighing them down, I used 2 heavy folders and a 5 lb weight, overkill I know but they look brand new ! As far as removing the old adhesive film I started it off with a box cutter blade and once it lifted up a bit I just pulled it off slowly and most of it came off. Thanks for the video !!

Thanks so much! Mine have been damaged for about a year or two now and I tried sending them in to get repaired twice now, since all that was wrong(at first) was the leather being pulled out, but the cushions were just getting worse and more torn. I was concerned I was going to damage the headphones before your tutorial but now the cushions are perfectly replaced! Thank you so much!

Nice video... I purchased a set of pads but the feel of the pads were completely different to the original, so I sent them back. The ones you bought did they have the same texture as the original rather than a smooth plastic feel?

Hey just to let you know that you put the left cushion on the right headphone and the right one on the left headphone. I'm sure that It's fine but I recommend you change this in the future as it can lead to the charging port bending over time and completely breaking the headphones entirely

I watched the video but still very nervous about doing this. What would mess the sound up or the headphones. I know you said it can be ripped up but could ripping the cushion harm the headphones in any way? Once agian this is a question out of anxiety

I think we're talking about the same part but the answer should be yes. Peel the red paper on top of the gray piece so it's sticky.

Hi Carlos, I recommend just replacing both ear cups since glue would be a short term solution to this problem.

I believe the black plastic you’re referring to won’t do anything to the headphones, so you should be fine. They’re meant to help secure the ear cups in the correct place.

When he’s trying to show us what he’s doing but if he’s not out of frame, his hands are in the way. I’m sure this was helpful to many, but I personally like being able to see what the person is doing. Something to work on for your next tutorial, make sure you’re in frame and not blocking the viewers view with your hands.

Hi, thanks for sharing your suggestion. You are correct that my hand does take up a good amount of the frame, I will do my best to improve this going forward. The issue is my videography setup isn’t huge, so I tend to do these videos (like this tutorials) standing to the side. Regardless, I really appreciate you sharing this feedback.

I would suggest reaching out to the seller through Amazon to rectify this issue. But if you're in a rush, I suggest going to Staples or Office Depot and buy alcohol wipes.
