It’s important that your fridge or freezer door seal, sometimes called a fridge gasket, makes a good seal around the whole of your fridge door. A fridge or freezer with a worn or faulty seal uses more energy than it needs to, you can end up with extra ice build up inside and also potentially water on your kitchen floor.
You can test the seal yourself with a banknote. Put the note between the seal and your fridge or freezer cabinet, if you can feel it gripping all the way round then it’s good, if it slides straight out, then it’s time to change your seal.
