Thanks for the tips! The original deck on my F85 had cracks on it and it was made of cheap plywood that basically amounted to several layers of cardboard. I can’t believe they used such awful quality wood for such a good machine. I replicated the original deck size with a solid piece of 3/4 inch birch plywood and it runs better than ever!

I would like to see that if possible. Also on the original deck it had a slick coating on it make sure you check the amps and everything should be good

on a earlier video you pointed out how some decks with the shinier side ie: the face up side were drilled out the wrong way where the counter sink holes were on the non shiny side. the deck you installed looked like the shinier side was facing up the first time you installed it. with the counter sink holes on the wrong side.

Yes sir But this video was a factory service call ! And they always want the counter sunk holes up . So it is a how to video They don’t feel there is a difference. But I can only say in the past 27 years the coated side was always up on all manufacturers I have worked on that used a silicone based lube . I guess we will see

if the manufacturer doesn't think their is a difference why bother spending the time or resources to polish 1 side? I think they are lying to hide the manufacturers defect on the build. china? your just the guy stuck in the middle, what can ya do right? it'll be interesting on how shortened the lifespan of the deck and belts will be. make a special note in your logs about this one.

Great video, Today I changed my deck and belt, wondering if the 6 black deck pads meant to screw in to the metal or sit loose before the deck is placed on top (sole f85), I went to un screw one and the rubber kind of teared off, only asking as I have looked at getting some new ones but they have a metal piece sticking out, thanks, any assistance much appreciated.

@@danvinten6954 well thank you! It’s best to replace the deck cushions. Yes when they tear off it is hard to get the bottom part of the cushion ( silver screws) out of the frame some times you have to grab the screw with vice grips and turn it from the bottom ( I hope that makes sense hard to explain)
