Great video detailing a total breakdown of the Z982. A few things, I noticed that your phone seems to have already been worked on, as you don't have issues with adhesives and can pull component apart with ease. The original breakdown of the phone will include a sheet of plastic covering the wires for the USB port. Also the motherboard has adhesive securing it to the screen under the area where the SD/sim card tray goes. You have to be careful with bending the motherboard, so patience is really needed here. Anyway, thanks for the great video!

The only constructive criticism that I would offer would be to ask for you to make the removal of the "very thin cord" a bit more visible. I had to watch it several times before realizing what was going on. This is a very well done video. I have never taken ANY cell phone apart. Awesome!!!!✌️ I have that ZTE cellphone. At this very moment that is the cellphone I'm using and it still holding up just great. Battery life is beyond great. I used to have a galaxy note 5 and the battery life of this ZTE is way better. Thanks for the video.

Wow. I'm even a bigger fan oF my ZTE after this. It worked. I almost ripped the power Volume cable. It's very fragile. Replaced the LCD as described in the video. Was astonished I now have what appears to be a new phone. Going to buy more memory for it now. Great phone, great video. I finally have found a decent product in the marketplace. Thanks guys!

I recently replaced the screen with using the link and tools in your description. Turned out that my power button had gone bad and had to get that replaced as well. After that I was finally able to get the phone to turn back on but now it says it has no service. Could you please help? I don't know what the issue is but all I can say is that the antenna didn't go back in as easy as it was to take off.

Thaaaaaaaaank you for this. My phone jammed while at the hospital and I couldn't get it to power off or do anything with the touch screen. Locked out of my phone bcuz I couldn't key in the pin and the only option was a perpetual hold and restart. I didn't even damage my screen and it just stopped working after about 6 months. These are worthless phones now that I know everything is saved to the phone and not a sim. Happily we had a family plan with a couple of other extra phones we weren't using so I just harvested the screen from one and switched out the mother boards. You are a God-send! Even though I absolutely hate these phones, (found out they are banned in all military installations and some federal gov't buildings so I'm just happy I restored it to the point I can transfer all the data out whenever I can find a phone that isn't on a watch list. LOL I now have all my contacts, texts and photos restored and in the process of updating. I noticed my gps (Waze) was uninstalled (that was the last app I was using when everything froze up on me this morning), but hopefully it will work after another install and update. Very well done tutorial, thumbs up, bud!

you can get the same phone on Ebay for like $100 now. The assembly kit and the screen replacement is like 70 bucks. 30 more you can get a new phone

@Serg Tech. So I have a question I wanted to know when you do this whole replacement process and your finally finished and you put the Memory Card in. Do you have all the apps and pictures and data that were in those apps that you had on your Original phone (cracked) transferred to the New Screen Phone? Please let me know because two days ago (btw I'm NEVER DOING THIS AGAIN because I learned my lesson not to throw phones that you dont want badly cracked.) my phone deleted something that was VERY important to me and I could never get it back. And so I got mad and threw my phone. So now my screen is so badly cracked to where their is little pieces of glass falling out. I cried so hard, because I was so scared that I would loose all my important pictures or progress that is in my games. So if you would please let me know. And tell me if all your apps are in the same place and all your data in those apps are okay. That would be much appreciated.

You should have also mentioned about how fragile the black plastic snap clip is on the main board . I accidentally snapped it off when I pulled the tape off so I had to re align the wire ribbon perfectly and then taped it in place. But otherwise the video was great help.
