IT TOOK SECONDS! I did not understand the directions that came with the remote. I thought I had to change the frequency on the remote to match what the fan had. We took the fan down and could not find any frequency patterns to match. We gave up and installed the fan again. Then, I thought I could find a code online that would make the two connect. I didn’t think this would work because i didn’t turn off the power at my breaker, i used my bedroom fan switch. BUT IT STILL WORKED

Worked great! After replacing an old controller the new one didn't have proper instructions for reprogramming. After half a year with the fan randomly changing speed this fixed the issue in 2 minutes!

So easy to fix. Thanks Mike. Did not have to mess with the remote buttons on the back though. Just pulled the battery, made sure the fan switch was off. Put the battery back in, then pointed the remote at the fan, held the stop button. Volla fixed.

The remote battery compartments have six customizable switches on the left and one the right. I didn't have to turn off the breaker the wall switch was enough. The light blinked on/off twice instead of three times.

This was a great video. It beats waiting to speak to Minka support. One shortcut discovered just now when my fan wouldn’t respond to my remote after a storm, simply took the battery out, reinserted after 10-20 seconds, and the fan responded immediately. Didn’t even have to use the circuit breaker.

Thank you so much for posting this video. I'd been procrastinating because I thought it would be difficult. One of our fans is purely operated by the remote and one is also connected to a power switch, so I simply had to follow the instructions but instead of having to turn power off at the breaker, I only had to turn the wall power switch of/on and this worked perfectly!

I've had two minka fans in one end of my house for 10 years. one was in the master bedroom when one was in the primary guest bedroom and they were always set to the factory default so if the guests would turn up or down the fan it would affect the other room. it was a complete pain I took the fan apart once or twice to reset the switches thinking I needed to do that .This is so easy - thank you! Not sure why minka didn't put it in the installation manual.

After watching a different video and removing the housing unit and the transmitter to find no dipsticks, I went back and found your video. The first fan took about 60 seconds (after an hour of ladder, housing, etc) The second took a little longer having to run up and down the stairs to the breaker box in the garage a few times because I couldn’t get it to work and without a light kit i was guessing how long to hold the power button down. After the 4th time and a new battery it finally worked. My electrician wanted $125 per fan to change the frequency. I dealt with 3 Minka fans on the same frequency for 6 years, I could kiss you right now!!!
