How To Rescue Your Subaru When Stuck!

In this video I use my 2024 Subaru outback wilderness as an example of what to do when you get stuck if you only have what the car offers. This will not guarantee you getting un stuck but it’s worth a try. Reminders when off-roading never go alone or un prepared. Thing happen and hopefully this video helps a little! Thanks for watching!

Thank you very much for posting this. I was looking under my '24 outback wilderness and found two D rings welded to the frame just in front of the front wheels. I was told (via the internets) these welded rings were tie downs were for shipping and whatnot and to not try to pull out the car with them. They don't look real sturdy. I was questioning whether using both eye bolts at the same time would be a safer way to pull the car up the side of a hill from the suctioning mud. From what you said, using them both at once may not be that much easier on the car. I also bought a decent come-a-long or manual winch to help get myself out but that can only pull so hard and if there's nothing to tie off to, then it's uselss. Where or how would a tow truck pull the Subaru up the side of a hill from the suctioning mud below? I would think any truck with a good enough winch could do the same thing. Keep the videos coming!

The rings on the underside of the unibody are in-fact for tie down during shipping but when you’re stuck you do what you have to and try what you try. Usually starting with the most gentle approach and slowly escalating. Always use soft shackles. Always put a drop cloth or jacket or whatever you have around over the rope to hold it down if there’s a breakage. When you call for a tow truck or recovery service, they and you consider it an emergency recovery and they will absolutely pull from control arms etc. to recover you even if the car is further damaged. You’ll pay for the repairs.

@@victorparadise5878 Yea, I get that. Sure be nice to be able to tie off to something solid so at least that, most basic thing, wouldn't be also such a big concern. I do have a couple of soft Shackles as well.
